It should be connected with the statement, "In order to completely protect all, one truly enters into all great places." The so-called "great place" refers to the place where the great ones reside. That is, the place where the great Bodhisattvas reside is the Mahayana. For this purpose, those who truly enter these places, because they possess diligence, this shows great diligence. The great cause, as stated in the scriptures, is determined by the Dharma of the Mahayana. Through hearing, thinking, meditation, and other stages, one gradually liberates oneself from the Dharma of the nature of the path, which is gathered by the Mahayana Dharma and the Paramitas. The Dharma of the Mahayana and the Paramitas are the nature of the path, and the path is the cause of liberation, therefore this shows the great cause. The great object of focus, as stated in the scriptures, is to hold an equal mind towards all sentient beings. Because one obtains an equal mind towards all sentient beings, treating self and others equally, placing them in equality through great love and so on. All sentient beings are the objects of focus for Bodhisattvas, and one regards them equally with immeasurable minds, therefore this shows the great object of focus. The great time, as stated in the scriptures, is being free from all discriminations of kalpas and non-kalpas. For the sake of unsurpassed Bodhi and accomplishing the benefit of all sentient beings, one engages in all times until the ultimate end of the future as if it were a single moment. It should be connected in this way: This (time) is a kalpa, one should practice in the short time of one kalpa; or this (time) is not a kalpa, it is shorter or longer than a kalpa, one should practice in those short times. Because one is free from all discriminations of time, until the ultimate end of accomplishment, one completely ripens one's own Buddha Dharma, and until the ultimate end of time, one completely ripens external sentient beings, therefore this shows the great time. Another explanation, the meaning of the words is being free from thoughts, discriminations, and all discriminations.

It is also referred to as. So, in its meaning, "discrimination" refers to discrimination of self-nature. For example, "This is form," "This is feeling," "This is desire," "This is faith," and so on, are discriminations of self-nature. "Various discriminations" refer to various discriminations of differences. For example, "This form is with outflows," "This is without outflows," "This feeling is moistened by desire," "This is not moistened by desire," "This desire is to be abandoned by seeing," "This is to be abandoned by meditation," "This faith is trust in karma and its results," "This is the first thought towards the Three Jewels and truth," and so on, are various discriminations of differences. "Complete discrimination" refers to complete discrimination of self-nature and differences. For example, "This is form, this form is with outflows, this is without outflows," "This is feeling, this feeling is moistened by desire, this is not moistened by desire," "This is desire, this desire is to be abandoned by seeing, this is to be abandoned by meditation," "This is faith, this faith is trust in karma and its results, this is the first thought towards the Three Jewels and truth," and so on, are complete discriminations of self-nature and differences. Being free from all these is because of the perfection of the four conducts, namely the perfection of the conduct of the non-discriminating pāramitā, the perfection of the conduct of the afflictionless aspects of enlightenment, the perfection of the conduct of maturing sentient beings without grasping, and the perfection of the conduct of maturing the Buddha's teachings without attachment. Among these, through skillful means, the conduct of the pāramitās is accomplished. Through the wisdom of complete familiarity, the conduct of the aspects of enlightenment is accomplished. Through compassion, the conduct of maturing sentient beings is accomplished. Through wisdom, the conduct of maturing the Buddha's teachings is accomplished. Thus, a Bodhisattva, through skillful means, the wisdom of complete familiarity, compassion, and wisdom,
