Thus it is said. Thereafter, in order to show the perfection of generosity, it was taught, "Meeting happily with those who desire the Dharma." The so-called "Meeting happily with those who desire the Dharma" means that the retinue who desire the Dharma come near to me, and I do not begrudge the enjoyment of being happy in this life, but rather first show a smile, and frankly say, "Come, welcome," etc., so that they can live happily with me. Or, when one encounters a virtuous friend because one desires the Dharma, one should keep a respectful mind, without any intention of finding fault, and completely abandon bad conduct, so that one can happily meet with the virtuous friend. Thus, the retinue who desire the Dharma live happily with oneself, or one encounters a virtuous friend because one desires the Dharma, which is a manifestation of great generosity of virtue, and therefore it is called perfection of generosity. Thereafter, in order to show the perfection of cause, it was taught, "Much hearing, holding hearing, accumulating hearing." Among them, the so-called "Much hearing" means starting from the three pitakas, listening and receiving many scriptures thoroughly from beginning to end. The so-called "Holding hearing" means holding the meaning of those scriptures, that is, holding all the meanings of hearing. The so-called "Accumulating hearing" means being able to explain the meaning of the former two. Thus, starting from the three pitakas, because the wisdom of much hearing, holding hearing, and accumulating hearing is vast, it is called perfection of cause. Thereafter, in order to show the perfection of going on the right path, it was taught, "Good thinking, good speaking, good action." Because children practice the three evil deeds of mind, the four evil deeds of speech, and the three evil deeds of body, they will think evil thoughts, speak evil words, and do evil deeds, and therefore they will fall into the continuum of evil destinies and samsara. But the noble ones are the opposite of this, and therefore they will attain higher realms and

Having proceeded in accordance with the path of liberation, it is therefore called the perfection of going on the path. After that, in order to show the perfection of swiftness, it is said: swift wisdom, quick wisdom, sharp wisdom, having the wisdom of renunciation, having the wisdom of realization, vast wisdom, broad wisdom, profound wisdom, unequaled wisdom, having precious wisdom. Among them, swift wisdom means quickly entering into the meaning of the Vinaya spoken by the Tathagata. Quick wisdom means entering into many meanings of those very things, because going to many places is called quick. Sharp wisdom means entering into subtle meanings. Having the wisdom of renunciation means obtaining the uncontaminated wisdom that can liberate from samsara. Having the wisdom of realization means having the necessity of nirvana, realization is to understand with certainty, which is nirvana. The wisdom that has this necessity is the wisdom of realization, and the person who has this wisdom is called the one with the wisdom of realization. Vast wisdom means that there is no end to answering questions. Broad wisdom means completely possessing great supernormal knowledge. Profound wisdom means that it is difficult for others to fathom its depth. Unequaled wisdom means being superior to dull-witted Shravakas. Having precious wisdom means that it is like a precious jewel because it enables one to obtain the supreme meaning. Thus, having the ten kinds of noble Shravaka wisdom such as swift wisdom, it is swift supernormal knowledge, therefore it is called the perfection of swiftness. After that, in order to show the perfection of going far, it is said to have the three vidyas. Having the three vidyas means obtaining the three non-learning vidyas, the three non-learning vidyas are the knowledge of remembering past lives, which can be manifested.
