Transition section. Regarding this, the stage of combination is indicated by "Samadhi and the obtained Dharani," that is, the stage of ascending from the second Bhumi to the third Bhumi, producing a combination free from desire, which is called combining freedom from desire through the intention of a pure mind, with the cause of intention, which is called combining with meditation through three types of combination with freedom from desire, and in order to manifest the Samadhi and hearing Dharani of the infinite realm of wisdom. The stage of fruition is indicated by "Because it is the infinite realm of wisdom," that is, in the third Bhumi, freedom from desire and the fruition of freedom from desire abide, which has been indicated before. Freedom from desire is called obtaining Samadhi and formless attainments, explained together with "that Samadhi." The fruition of freedom from desire is called obtaining the four immeasurables and five superknowledges, and the hearing Dharani, explained together with "that hearing Dharani." Thus, when that Samadhi and that hearing Dharani are obtained, because that itself is the infinite realm of wisdom, it produces great Dharma light in the self and other continuums, therefore it is called the Illuminator, therefore the third Bhumi is called the Illuminating Bhumi. The fourth Bhumi is, the definitive term of the fourth Bhumi is the unarisen warmth of wisdom completely distinguished by the Vajra-like Samadhi through the practice of antidotes and through its fruition, therefore it is called the Radiant One. Regarding this, it is indicated through the way of practicing antidotes, that is, in order to burn the wood of afflictions, practicing the Dharma in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, that is, in the fourth Bhumi, the practice of antidotes increases, that is, the practice of the antidotes to afflictions, the Dharma in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment increases, that itself later from the tenth Bhumi to the stage of ascending to the Buddha Bhumi, the Vajra-like Samadhi encompassed by the ultimate path of all learning, with the fire of wisdom completely distinguished, burns the afflictions and the tree of the obscurations of knowledge.

Because it possesses the heat generated by burning, it is called radiant. Radiant refers to the flame produced by fire, not the heat of the fire that has not yet been produced. Explaining from the aspect of its result, it is expressed by "because it becomes the flame of the fire of wisdom." The fourth ground, its result refers to the fruit of practicing the antidote, the six fruits, abandoning all afflictions of defilements, etc. At the time of hearing, when previously practicing the antidote, practicing the Dharma that is in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, becoming a fruit, just like before, with the fire of wisdom completely separated by diamond-like samadhi, later becoming heat, so it is called radiant. Therefore, the fourth ground is called radiant. The fifth ground, the definition of the fifth ground is, the characteristic of practicing the path of non-abiding, and from the aspect of establishing its fruit, the wisdom of non-abiding in samsara and nirvana, extremely difficult to subdue, extremely subdued, so it is called extremely difficult to subdue. Among them, explaining from the characteristic of practicing the path of non-abiding, it is expressed by "for those Dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, practicing with skillful means." The fifth ground, the characteristic of practicing the path of non-abiding, refers to the characteristic of completely purifying wisdom, truly realizing, so not abiding in samsara, and recognizing that all conditioned phenomena are false, etc., from the characteristic of diligently practicing with compassion for sentient beings, when not abiding in nirvana, in order to completely protect all afflictions, so extremely practicing the Dharma that is in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment with wisdom, therefore not completely liberating from nirvana with the Small Vehicle, because of being skilled in skillful means, so in order to completely protect the Small Vehicle, practicing those Dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment with skillful means, and the wisdom of non-abiding in samsara and nirvana is extremely difficult to subdue, therefore the bodhisattva abiding in the fifth ground, combines with the characteristic of practicing the karma of non-abiding, and does not abide in samsara and nirvana.
