These are the merits of gathering. The so-called "Discrimination of Definitive Meaning" is of two kinds: the discrimination of definitive meaning of the ground and the discrimination of definitive meaning of the individual. This will be extensively explained below in the section on mastering names. The distinction of good results is as before. It is said that having obtained those abidings and distinctions, that limb is complete because it has truly transcended from manifesting in the absence of characteristics. What is the abandonment of the opposing side of the ninth ground? Because one cannot obtain the power to teach the Dharma in all ways through names, characteristics, definitive meanings, and distinctions, that limb is incomplete. Therefore, the opposing side of the ninth ground is the absence of manifestation in the affairs of sentient beings. Moreover, having mostly meditated on the absence of characteristics while abiding on the eighth ground, one has already settled into the state of possessing the path that continuously and uninterruptedly enters by its own nature, and although one has obtained vast wisdom, one should connect it with the fact that one cannot skillfully distinguish the names of the Dharmas, their characteristics, definitive meanings, and distinctions, starting from truly teaching the unsurpassed Dharma to others. What is the cultivation of the antidote? It is indicated by "striving to make that limb complete." That is, in the stage of ascending from the eighth ground to the ninth ground, the so-called excellent verbal exertion is the effort towards the Dharma that transcends the eighth ground and suppresses the ninth ground, having obtained the Dharma that is empowered for the benefit of oneself and others. Among them, the so-called excellent verbal exertion refers to the Bodhisattva who, in this way, with discriminating wisdom based on immeasurable wisdom, from suppressing the ninth ground of the Bodhisattva to obtaining the distinction of abiding on the eighth ground, and not being satisfied with merely obtaining the distinction of purifying the Buddha-field, obtaining freedom, and greatness, but rather refers to the complete Dharma that is the cause of turning the wheel of Dharma in the order of following the upwardly superior wisdom. The so-called obtaining the Dharma that is empowered for the benefit of oneself and others is the formless one.

By reversing the training with the understanding that liberation will be attained in all existences, accomplishing the benefit of others, and by accomplishing the benefit of oneself, such as attaining the wisdom of the Buddha that has not yet been attained, striving for this is cultivating the antidote. What is the fruit of cultivation? That is, it is indicated by the term "attainment," on the ninth ground, attaining perfect wisdom, as well as perfectly entering into conduct, abiding with perfect exposition, and distinguishing the distinctions with the excellence of good results, this is attainment. Among these, what is called perfect wisdom is knowing what should be expounded, what is virtuous, what is non-virtuous, and what is unindicated, knowing these and then expounding them. What is called perfect entry into conduct is starting from the conduct of sentient beings, afflictions, and the pervasiveness of karma, along with abiding, and starting from the pervasiveness of beings endowed with the pervasiveness of birth, and the determination and non-determination of purification, thereby fully understanding the dense flow of these conducts. What is called perfect exposition is, like this, after understanding the various different conducts of sentient beings, similarly, it is the approaching of approaching liberation, that is, the three, namely, perfect wisdom, perfect speech, and perfect utterance. Among these, what is called perfect wisdom is knowing what and relying on what to expound. Knowing what to expound? It is knowing the vessel that is matured and liberated, and the nature of liberation through taming, and expounding after knowing the various distinctions of liberation through the difference of the three vehicles. Relying on what to expound? It is expounding by relying on the vessel of the antidote's key instructions, and the vessel of expounding the Dharma, and the vessel of how to approach the example, and the vessel of various names, and so on. Among these, what is called perfect speech is, like this, with the mastery of immeasurable wisdom, expounding the Dharma with the words of the four unimpeded comprehensions of the Bodhisattva, wherein the four unimpeded comprehensions of the Bodhisattva are unmixed, as follows: Dharma one by one
