The distinction of practice means diligently practicing aspiration prayers in such a way that they become a capable mind and an antidote mind, and practicing the Dharma by completely subduing it with faith and so on. There are four kinds of differences in the benefits of the fruit, namely, the difference in the benefits of the capable fruit, the difference in the benefits of the entering fruit, the difference in the benefits of the completely holding the ripening fruit, and the difference in the benefits of knowing the aspiration prayer. Among them, the distinction of the benefit of the capable fruit means that just as gold gravel is completely subdued and becomes capable, those virtuous dharmas such as faith are offered to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, thereby arranging the field of benefit, and completely maturing sentient beings, thereby arranging the field of compassion, and completely growing Bodhi, thereby harvesting the supreme fruit. If it is completely subdued, it will become more and more capable. The distinction of the benefit of the entering fruit means that just as a great merchant rescues many guests from the sea, the Bodhisattva becomes a great merchant, and in order to make all the many sentient beings reach the great city of omniscient wisdom, he truly combines them. The distinction of the benefit of completely holding the ripening fruit is of two kinds. The greatness of the body means becoming the lord of Jambudvipa. The vastness of the cause is that with great generosity, he becomes the master of gathering sentient beings, and is skilled in preventing the defilement of stinginess, and also goes forth in the teachings of the Tathagata, and obtains hundreds of samadhis in an instant, a moment, and a short time, and enters into meditation and so on. The distinction of the benefit of knowing the aspiration prayer means that from then on, the Bodhisattvas with the power of aspiration prayers will emanate into the form of special aspiration prayers, and their bodies, or desires, or miraculous powers, or eyes, or realms of activity, or voices, or behaviors, or arrangements, or blessings, or intentions, or manifest actions, etc., even for hundreds of millions of kalpas.

It is said that it is not easy to express the countless (wisdom) knowledges. Because one has obtained those abodes and characteristics, it is said that that limb is complete. This is because one has abandoned the unfavorable aspects, cultivated the antidote, and obtained the fruit of cultivation. What is the abandonment of the unfavorable aspects of the second ground? Because one cannot consciously abandon the subtle errors of downfall. Therefore, it is shown by "that limb is complete." The unfavorable aspect of the second ground is to perform evil deeds to sentient beings with body and so on. Although one has already settled in the purity of higher intention in the first ground, the subtle downfalls of the Bodhisattva's precepts, such as the errors of self-nature like generating the mind of enlightenment, still need to be guarded by individual observation. What is the cultivation of the antidote? It is shown by "striving to make that limb complete." In the stage of rising from the first ground to the second ground, by obtaining the upright intention called "arising purity," one rises from the first ground and suppresses the second ground, and this is effort. The so-called "arising purity" refers to the Bodhisattva who, after having practiced well on the first ground, desires to manifest the second ground of the Bodhisattva, and abides on the transcendental path of the Bodhisattva with realization, focusing on the purity of discipline, arising between the first and second grounds. The so-called "upright intention" refers to the intention of the mind that is free from individual observation and focuses on the purity of discipline. To strive for this is to cultivate the antidote. What is the attainment of the fruit of cultivation? It is shown by "also obtains." On the second ground, one abides through self-nature purity, and the characteristics are shown through the characteristics of the benefits of the fruit, that is, attainment. The so-called "self-nature purity" refers to the three types of discipline purity, namely, the purity of the discipline of vows, the purity of the discipline of gathering virtuous dharmas, and the purity of the discipline of benefiting sentient beings.
