The so-called "accumulation perfection" refers to the continuous manifestation of diligence, thereby combining with the roots of virtue, etc. The roots of virtue, etc., can also be understood in eight ways: to serve and so on in order not to waste time; to engage in Dharma joy and so on in order to enjoy determining related conversations; to engage in extensive learning and so on in order not to feel satisfied in seeking extensive learning; to engage in thinking and so on in order to properly contemplate the Dharma that has been heard; to engage in non-abiding and so on in order not to taste the flavor of meditation; to obtain gain and respect in order to completely eliminate obstacles to the bodhisattva's training; to have no excessive attachment to what has not been obtained; for the same reason, to have no obvious fondness for resources; to engage in jewel-like minds and so on in order to continuously manifest the mind that transcends the world. In this way, it is combined with the perfection of accumulation. The so-called "dedication perfection" refers to combining by means of desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience, that is, desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience. Furthermore, one should recognize the eleven different aspects of how to desire manifestation: desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience by focusing on the powers of the Tathagata, etc.; desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience through purity; desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience through complete abandonment; speaking thus, acting thus, desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience; desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience through following and guarding; desiring to manifest the ground of omniscience through generating kinds;

To fully train is to practice, and practice is of four types: faith, aspiration, diligence, and method. Among these, that which arises from perfect thought is called the power of faith, and this is the third aspiration. That which arises from perfect practice, from the roots of virtue and so forth, constantly manifesting diligence, is called diligence. That which arises from perfect dedication, desiring to manifest the state of omniscience, is called method. Among these, the distinction refers to residing on the first ground. By what distinction is one superior to the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas? There are three distinctions: the distinction of aspiration, the distinction of practice, and the distinction of the benefit of the result. Among these, the distinction of aspiration refers to manifesting great aspirations. Manifesting great aspirations can also be understood in ten ways from the distinctions of virtuous aspirations: In the future, to make offerings and reverence to the Tathagatas, the great aspiration to make immeasurable offerings of all kinds; the great aspiration to fully uphold and protect the sacred Dharma of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and to correctly uphold the Dharma; the great aspiration from residing in the Tushita heaven until complete Nirvana; the great aspiration to perfectly practice all aspects of the Bodhisattva's conduct; the great aspiration to ripen all sentient beings; the great aspiration to attend to all realms of the world; The great aspiration to purify all Buddha-fields; the great aspiration to enter the Mahayana, to make the thoughts and practices of all Bodhisattvas consistent; the great aspiration to make all correct practices fruitful; the great aspiration to manifest enlightenment and attain Buddhahood, realizing the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. In this way, the distinctions of correct aspirations, each of these ten great aspirations manifests the practice of countless millions of wheels of aspiration, and this is called the distinction of aspiration.
