By the utterly pure superior wisdom that knows and sees reality as it is, one should understand that all the fruits from the fourth ground onward are included. Since the utterly pure superior intention is the very nature of the path of seeing, it is exhausted as one. If the utterly pure superior discipline, the utterly pure superior mind, and the utterly pure superior wisdom are the very nature of learning, why is it determined as the number three? This is because of the meaning of the place of samadhi, the meaning of the basis of knowledge, and the meaning of having accomplished the task. Among these, the meaning of the place of samadhi is the learning of superior discipline, because by abiding in superior discipline, one will come into contact with the samadhi of one-pointedness of mind. The meaning of the basis of knowledge is the learning of superior mind, because with the one-pointedness of mindfulness that evenly places the mind, the wisdom that knows and sees reality as it is enters into the object of knowledge. The meaning of having accomplished the task is the learning of superior wisdom, because by being purely clear only through knowing and seeing, one directly accomplishes the abandonment of afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge. This is the supreme meaning of oneself, therefore it is called the meaning of having accomplished the task, because abandoning the two obscurations is the best of tasks, and therefore there is no other task before it. If so, why are these three trainings arranged in that order? Because by abiding in superior discipline, one obtains the samadhi of superior mind, and relying on superior mind, superior wisdom arises. If so, why are they called superior discipline, superior mind, and superior wisdom? The meaning of superior is the meaning of being able to control and the meaning of superior. Among these, the meaning of being able to control is the discipline that is controlled by the superior mind, which is the learning of superior discipline. The samadhi that is controlled by the superior wisdom is the learning of superior mind. The knowing and seeing that are controlled by abandoning obscurations is the learning of superior wisdom, which is control.

It is the meaning of the word "to." The special meaning is that these trainings are only found in the teachings of the Sugata, and are not shared with outsiders, so it is a meaning that is superior to outsiders, and that is the special meaning. So, are these three trainings each definite as stated? There are those who possess the training of higher morality but do not possess the training of higher mind and higher wisdom; there are those who possess the training of higher wisdom but do not possess the training of higher mind and higher morality; but it is impossible to have the training of higher mind without the training of higher morality. Therefore, wherever there is the training of higher wisdom, there must also be the training of higher mind and higher morality; wherever there is the training of higher mind, there must also be the training of higher morality, and this should be understood. The other qualities of the ground that are included in the three trainings should also be understood in the same way. The meaning of the words such as fruit has been explained. After that, the meaning of the words of being skilled in the incompatible aspects and the remedies will be explained. Now, for each of these eleven grounds, abandoning the incompatible aspects, cultivating the remedies, obtaining the fruit of cultivation, and being skilled in the complete perfection of the basis of both. Therefore, when asked how many branches are included, it is said that it should be understood as being included in eleven branches, and so on. Among them, what is the incompatible aspect to be abandoned on the first ground? It is indicated by the term "ground of practice by aspiration." The incompatible aspect to be abandoned on the first ground is the state of an ordinary being. That is, from the ground of practice by aspiration downwards, all stages up to the attainment of the supramundane path are included. What is the remedy to be cultivated? It is indicated by the phrase "having completely transcended that through patience," because of the extreme cultivation of aspiration for the ten practices of a Bodhisattva. From the initial generation of the mind, up to the peak of worldly Dharma, the ten practices, that is, the Sutra Pitaka and other teachings that are in accordance with the Great Vehicle, are included in the Bodhisattva Pitaka.
