Because of abandoning all latent afflictions, therefore, as its antidote, the mind without outflows and the wisdom without outflows, as well as the superior mind and the superior wisdom, are what is gathered, that is, because the outflows are exhausted, the mind without outflows is liberated and the wisdom is liberated, that is, relying on the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, from hearing and learning, as well as the ground of no more learning, the thought that I have obtained it, with the knowledge of the exhaustion of outflows, one knows as it is, and thereby knows that others have obtained it and have not obtained it, the means and non-means for oneself and others to obtain it, and that others obtaining it is conceit and non-conceit, also knows as it is, therefore, that is the exhaustion of outflows. The method of realizing it is as before. Even if a Bodhisattva knows it, he will not personally realize it, because he will not abandon the objects with outflows together with the afflictions, but will contemplate the objects with outflows in a way that is without any afflictions. It should be known that this is the most powerful of all powers. Gathering all of these together is the direct perception for realizing the knowledge of the exhaustion of outflows. Its function is that one will not become afflicted, and by showing it to others, it can also eliminate conceit. The yogi who possesses these six kinds of knowledge, when the time is ripe, can approach, abide, universally benefit others, or answer questions asked of him, therefore it is called direct perception. Among them, the first three direct perceptions are only direct perceptions, not wisdom. The latter three are both direct perceptions and wisdom, because they are the antidote to the ignorance that is universally present in the three times. Among them, the first makes others desire, and also makes others generate respect and great reverence for oneself. The second, by understanding the virtuous and non-virtuous verbal actions of others, encourages and praises them. The third, by knowing all the virtuous and non-virtuous thoughts in the minds of others, skillfully teaches them. Finally

The three are abandoning the extremes of permanence and annihilation, without pride in the cessation of defilements, excellently teaching the Middle Way, and also instructing in it. That is the power of clairvoyance. What is the power of Dharma? It is the power of generosity, the power of ethics, the power of patience, the power of diligence, the power of meditation, and the power of wisdom. Those powers of Dharma also have four aspects: abandoning unfavorable factors, fully maturing the assembly, benefiting oneself and others, and producing results in the future. What are the four aspects of the power of generosity? When a Bodhisattva gives alms, abandoning the unfavorable factor of stinginess is abandoning the unfavorable factor. Those very alms become factors of enlightenment, and by giving objects of attraction, beings are fully matured, which is fully maturing the assembly. Before giving, one is joyful, at the time of giving, one's mind is at peace, and after giving, there is no regret. With a joyful mind in the three times, one benefits oneself, and by relieving the hunger, thirst, cold, heat, sickness, lack of desire, and suffering of fear of other beings, one benefits others, which is benefiting oneself and others. In future lives, wherever one is born, one becomes wealthy, with great enjoyment, a strong foundation, and many servants and attendants, and one is also inclined to generosity, which is producing results in the future. What is the power of ethics like? When a Bodhisattva properly takes the ethics of the vows of body and speech, abandoning the unfavorable factor of immoral ethics is abandoning the unfavorable factor. That ethics that is properly taken also becomes a factor of one's own enlightenment, and by the object of attraction being consistent in meaning, beings are fully matured, which is fully maturing the assembly. Abandoning the fear, faults, and resentment caused by the circumstances of immoral ethics, one can sleep peacefully and
