And also connect the correct recognition of each meaning with this. There are two aspects that are difficult to eliminate: namely, the aspect of viewing the perishable assembly, and the aspect of thinking "I am." These two are from the meanings of grasping, the Dharma arising from the mind, the view of the perishable assembly, and pride in thinking "I am," therefore they are extremely difficult to subdue, so they are called difficult to eliminate. This is eliminated by internal emptiness and the emptiness of non-apprehension, meaning that if one contemplates internally that the internal aggregates are empty, and that the self is non-apprehensible, then these two will be eliminated. The so-called "correctly recognizing the meaning of what is taken" is the fourth stage. Previously, in the case of the ten kinds of correct recognition of meaning, the external six sense bases of the meaning taken have already shown that these are the respective correct recognitions, and are connected with this. There is also one aspect that is difficult to eliminate: namely, the aspect of viewing enjoyment. This is because the object of pleasure is taken as one's own, and is the place of subsequent attachment, so it is called difficult to eliminate. This is eliminated by external emptiness, meaning that if one contemplates externally that external objects are empty, then it will be eliminated. The so-called "for the sake of complete enjoyment, the respective correct recognition of men and the possession of women's service and equipment" is the fifth stage. Previously, in the case of the ten kinds of correct recognition of meaning, the meaning of enjoyment is because of complete enjoyment, I have held beings and the equipment shown, etc., have already shown that these are the respective correct recognitions, and are connected with this. There are also two aspects that are difficult to eliminate: namely, the aspect of inner happiness and the aspect of outer suffering. These two are from the seven things and ten kinds of equipment that are completely taken, the inner feeling is wrongly regarded as happiness, and the outer service, etc., is wrongly regarded as suffering, therefore it is the form of the object of present attachment, so it is called difficult to eliminate. This is due to inner and outer emptiness and self-nature.

The so-called "dispelling with emptiness" refers to the characteristics of inner happiness and outer suffering, which are like dreams, both inside and outside are empty. Furthermore, if one clings to the inside and outside in a reversed manner, if one contemplates that their nature is empty, then these two can be dispelled. The so-called "being able to correctly understand the meaning of the place" refers to the sixth stage. Previously, in the "Ten Dharmas of Being Able to Correctly Understand All Meanings," what was said as "the meaning of the place refers to the world realm" should be combined with being able to correctly understand all meanings. Among them, there is also a characteristic that is difficult to dispel, which is the characteristic of immeasurability. This is because it is due to contemplating the immeasurable realms of the ten directions, it is a state of distraction, so it is said to be difficult to dispel. The so-called "dispelling with great emptiness" means that if one contemplates that all the immeasurable realms of the ten directions are empty like the sky, then it can be dispelled. The so-called "relying on the formless" refers to the seventh stage. Previously, in the "Ten Dharmas of Being Able to Correctly Understand All Meanings," what was said as "the meaning of pervasive defilement has three aspects, namely the meaning of the three realms, the pervasive defilement of afflictions, karma, and birth," should be combined with being able to correctly understand the meaning of the pervasive defilement of afflictions, karma, and birth of the formless realm. Among them, there is also a characteristic that is difficult to dispel, which is the characteristic of inner peaceful liberation. This is because regarding non-existence and nothingness, as well as subtle sensations, as peaceful liberation, is a state of viewing the aggregates as a self, so it is said to be difficult to dispel. The so-called "dispelling with the emptiness of conditioned phenomena" means that it also belongs to the category of conditioned phenomena, and all conditioned phenomena depend on causes and conditions. If one contemplates that it is emptiness, then it can be dispelled. The so-called "being able to correctly understand the meaning of the suchness of self-nature" refers to the eighth stage. Previously, among the seven suchnesses, the suchness of self-nature refers to the selflessness of persons and the Dharma of all phenomena.
