All of these are branches of the Noble Eightfold Path, equal and identical with the Suchness of perfect accomplishment. The so-called "meaning of grasping" refers to that which possesses an object of focus. The so-called "meaning of being grasped" refers to that which is to be made an object of focus. Furthermore, the statement "whatever is the meaning of grasping is also the meaning of being grasped" is because all phenomena are the grasped object of the mind's consciousness. The so-called "meaning of place" refers to the realm of the container world. The so-called "village" refers to the boundary of a village, that is, the boundary of a village and the villages belonging to that village's sphere. The so-called "hundred villages, thousand villages, million villages" and so on are merely symbolic expressions, and are not to be taken as definitive limits of those numbers. The so-called "land that reaches the ocean" refers to the four places that, starting from the center of Jambudvipa, reach the ocean in four directions. However, it is not that a million villages are compared to one land that reaches the ocean, nor that a million lands that reach the ocean are compared to one Jambudvipa, but rather that villages and millions are each set up as one unit, and lands that reach the ocean are also each set up as one unit of millions. Similarly, for Jambudvipa and so on, they should be combined separately in units. Therefore, showing villages and their hundreds and so on is the cause for manifestly proving the immeasurable nature of the world, and it is not to compare it with the equal measure and number of the world. The so-called "meaning of enjoyment" refers to the basis for being fully enjoyed. The so-called "complete possession" refers to the seven things that are completely possessed: oneself, parents, children, wife, servants, maids, and laborers, as well as those who live on leftovers, friends, ministers, relatives, objects of marital relations, objects of fields, objects of houses, objects of merchandise, objects of meritorious deeds, objects of engaging in work, and objects of wealth and so on. The so-called "equipment" refers to the ten types of equipment: food, drink, riding animals, clothing, ornaments, laughter, song and dance, the sound of musical instruments, incense, flower garlands, and unguents.

Those are the objects and appearances, and the offerings made by men and women. The meaning of "inverted" refers to the perception, mind, and view that have become inverted in four ways. The meaning of "attachment and so forth lies in those very things" refers to the meaning of attachment, the object of attachment, the place, and the enjoyment. The meaning of "inverted perception" refers to the complete conceptualization by perception in four inverted ways. The meaning of "inverted mind" refers to the mind that is manifestly attached by view to those four inverted minds, and is completely afflicted by desire and so forth. The meaning of "inverted view" refers to endurance, desire, complete destruction, and manifest attachment in the same way to those that are completely conceptualized by perception. The meaning of "non-inverted" refers to the opposite of the meaning of inverted. The meaning of "completely afflicted" refers to whatever precedes the meaning of inverted in the meaning of attachment, and that is also of three kinds. The meaning of "afflictive complete affliction" refers to the afflictions and near afflictions. The detailed divisions of those are establishment, namely, self-nature, detailed division, cause, state, door, magnitude, inversion, name, and fault. Among these, what is self-nature? It refers to any dharma that, when it arises, its self-nature also arises as a characteristic of not being completely pacified, and when it arises, it only enters into making the continuum of conditioned things not completely pacified. What is detailed division? It refers to the detailed division of the characteristics of the six afflictions and many near afflictions. What is the cause? There are six kinds, namely, afflictions arise from the basis, object, confusion, explanation, habituation, and attention. What is the state? There are seven kinds, namely, the states of dormancy, entanglement, imputation, co-emergence, small, medium, and large. What is the door?
