Therefore, it should be applied as the method for attaining the perfection of the Vipassanā path, which is completely distinguished by the attention of the ultimate yoga path. The meaning of the words 'method of attainment' and so on have been explained. Now, in order not to waste time, the meaning of the words 'establishing the determination' and so on will be explained. The so-called 'establishing the determination in order not to waste time' refers to the teaching and explanation, which is the establishment of determination, in order to prevent the nature of the path of tranquility and insight, which is completely encompassed by yoga, from deteriorating and being wasted. There are fourteen aspects to this: establishing the determination in order not to waste the samadhi that abides in non-conceptual wisdom; establishing the determination in order not to waste the conceptualization of non-conceptual wisdom; establishing the determination in order to dismantle the ignorance of the time for meditating on the three reasons and in order not to waste time; establishing the determination in order to dismantle the clinging to contentment with just a little and in order not to waste time; establishing the determination in order to dismantle the complete deterioration of the senses and in order not to waste time; establishing the determination in order not to waste the increase of virtue; establishing the determination in order not to waste the conceptualization and agitation together with their antidotes; establishing the determination in order not to waste the complete understanding of the reasons for meditation; establishing the determination in order to dismantle manifest pride and in order not to waste time; establishing the determination in order not to waste time with just tranquility; establishing the determination in order not to waste the complete understanding through the arising of subtle phenomena; establishing the determination in order to dismantle the fear of emptiness and in order not to waste time; and, starting from the nature, cause and effect, action, yoga, and the meaning of entering into the meditation on tranquility and insight, establishing the determination in order not to waste the giving of instructions; establishing the determination in order to dismantle the lack of strong desire for meditation and in order not to waste time.

为了不浪费安住于无分别智慧者的禅定，而确定施设是：世尊，止观之道是否不同？或者说不是不同？等等。为了不浪费通达无分别智慧，而确定施设是：世尊，观视的禅定之行境，那个影像是什么？等等。为了破除不了解修习三种因的时期，而不浪费，而确定施设是：世尊，菩萨以多少来唯一修习胜观？等等。为了破除执着少许就足够，而不浪费，而确定施设是：世尊，胜观有多少种？等等。为了破除诸根完全衰退，而不浪费，而确定施设是：世尊，止观也称为安住于法吗？等等。 为了不浪费善业增长，而确定施设是：世尊，止观也称为缘于不杂之法吗？等等。为了不浪费具有对治的分别和动摇，而确定施设是：世尊，如何止观成为具有分别和具有观察的禅定？等等。为了不浪费完全了解修习的因，而确定施设是：世尊，止的因是什么？等等。为了破除增上慢，而不浪费，而确定施设是：世尊，菩萨修习止观，如果如实了知各自的法，如实了知各自的义，等等。为了不浪费仅仅是止，而确定施设是：世尊，由听闻所生之慧，如实了知各自的义是什么？等等。

In order not to waste the samadhi of one who abides in non-conceptual wisdom, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, are the paths of shamatha and vipashyana different? Or are they not different?" and so on. In order not to waste the realization of non-conceptual knowledge, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, what is the image that is the object of the samadhi of contemplation?" and so on. In order to dispel ignorance of the time for cultivating the three reasons and not to waste it, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, how much does a Bodhisattva cultivate vipashyana exclusively?" and so on. In order to dispel the notion that a little is enough and not to waste it, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, how many aspects are there to vipashyana?" and so on. In order to dispel the complete deterioration of the faculties and not to waste it, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, are shamatha and vipashyana also called abiding in the Dharma?" and so on. In order not to waste the increase of merit, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, are shamatha and vipashyana also called focusing on unmixed Dharma?" and so on. In order not to waste conceptualization and agitation together with their antidotes, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, how do shamatha and vipashyana become samadhi with conceptualization and investigation?" and so on. In order not to waste the complete understanding of the reasons for cultivation, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, what is the reason for shamatha?" and so on. In order to dispel pride and not to waste it, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, if a Bodhisattva cultivates shamatha and vipashyana, and truly knows each Dharma and truly knows each meaning," and so on. In order not to waste just shamatha, the establishment of designation is: "Bhagavan, what is the wisdom that arises from hearing that truly knows each meaning?" and so on.
