Therefore, the nature of the mind of vipashyana, which is distinguished by practice, is completely distinguished from the nature of self-awareness, which is the meaning of non-duality, and becomes wider, grows, and expands. Thus, when the minds of shamatha and vipashyana become wide, grow, and expand, the path of union arises, and the object of completing the limits and needs of things is obtained at the same time. When it is obtained, the result distinguished by the perfection of vastness, the nature of transformation, and the result distinguished by the perfection of wisdom, the nature of true knowledge, are obtained as one. Obtaining these two results is the attainment of the supreme state of perfect and complete enlightenment, the Bhagavan Buddha. At that time, it is called Tathagata. Therefore, a yogi who is a beginner should first take shamatha as a guide when seeking an object for the first time. When the object is obtained, vipashyana is more important. When practicing the object, shamatha is more important. When the result is obtained, it is the practice of the path of union. Therefore, here, first of all, the question of the noble Ajita, "How many and what are the objects of the path of shamatha?" should be connected. "One" means that the answer to the question "How many?" has been given. For example, "non-conceptual image" means that the answer to the question "What?" has been given. This should be related to the stage of practicing the object before obtaining the object. Why is it the object of shamatha? Because "non-conceptual" means the aspect of shamatha distinguished by the path of obtaining attention, which is included in the nine stages of mind, has six powers, and is practiced by four attentions. And "image" means the image of the mind, self-awareness, which is distinguished by the aspect of non-conceptual shamatha and is in accordance with the object of knowledge. Therefore, "How many objects of vipashyana?" should also be related to "How many and what?". "Only one" means that the answer to the question "How many?" has been given.

The answer was, "Yes." What is meant by "image with conceptualization"? The answer is: This is related to the stage of attaining the object before the complete search for the object. Why is it the object of vipaśyanā? "With conceptualization" refers to the aspect of vipaśyanā that is distinguished by the mind engaging on the path of union, which is encompassed by the four practices of wisdom and possesses the three doors. It focuses on the six types of bases that are distinguished. "Image" refers to the image of the mind, which is self-awareness, that is distinguished by the aspect of vipaśyanā with conceptualization and is similar to the object of knowledge. How many are the objects of those two? It is also related to the question of "how many and what." "Of those two" is a synonym for the path of union. "Two" is the answer to the question of "how many." For example, what is meant by "the limit of things and the complete accomplishment of meaning"? The answer is: This is related to the stage of attaining the ultimate result of the path of union before becoming familiar with the object. Why are those two the objects of the path of union? The aspect of śamatha on the path of union is only the absorption in samādhi through the power of complete familiarity and the mind engaging without effort. The aspect of vipaśyanā is encompassed by the aspect of complete investigation, possessing the door that follows the separate examination of the complete search, and it focuses on the classification of the basis of realization. When those two equally unite and the path arises, then the object of the limit of things and the complete accomplishment of meaning is attained. Moreover, the path of union also focuses on those two objects, so that object itself is attained, and the time of the arising of the path of union is also the same, and the nature is also the same. This is showing the cause of union by the object, and the meaning of the words of the cause of union, etc., has already been explained. After that are the meanings of the words of attainment, etc.
