Therefore, it is shown that those who have little wisdom cling only to the literal meaning of words, and also slander all three natures, so that for a while, they are possessed of great faults, completely falling away from the loss of not having obtained the wisdom gathered by the roots of virtue and the path of seeing, which are in accordance with the aspect of definite distinction. If one completely falls away from wisdom, then one will also completely fall away from the extremely vast and extremely immeasurable virtuous dharmas. That is to say, if one completely falls away from the loss of not having obtained those wisdoms, then one will also completely fall away from the loss of not having obtained the extremely vast and extremely immeasurable virtuous dharmas gathered by those wisdoms, and that is all that will happen, but it does not mean that faults will increase. Apart from those, when others hear that dharma is dharma and that non-meaning is meaning, the listeners hear it from those speakers of little wisdom, who are the first others. There are two kinds of listeners: those who rejoice in their views and those who do not rejoice in their views. Those who rejoice in their views, like those speakers themselves, will also increase through virtuous dharmas that have faith in the Dharma. Because of clinging to non-meaning, they will completely fall away from wisdom and virtuous dharmas, but they will not increase faults. This is shown by those who rejoice in their views, and so on. Those who do not rejoice in their views, although they have the merit of not being biased towards their views, do not have faith in the Dharma and, in a gradual manner such as slander, how can they expect to increase through virtuous dharmas? On top of completely falling away from the loss of not having obtained wisdom and virtuous dharmas, great faults will also increase. This is shown by those who do not rejoice in their views, and so on. Hearing the selflessness of the nature of dharmas, etc., is heard by those speakers in the same way as the surface of words. Fear, etc., is to slander all three natures.

Because they do not adhere to the view of the authentic path. How could they adhere to the views of those debaters, who are said to slander the sutras? They also slander and completely abandon those sutras spoken by the Tathagata, which are the very Dharma they adhere to. "Therefore, based on that" means based on slandering those sutras spoken by the Tathagata, etc. "They will obtain great poverty" means they will obtain great obscurations due to being impoverished of the true Dharma, or based on that, they will obtain great suffering as a result. "They will also be touched by great karmic obscurations" means they will also obtain the result of great karmic obscurations due to being impoverished of the true Dharma, which is that sentient beings are thrown into the great hells one after another in succession. "Also based on that" refers to the two kinds of listeners. That basis which causes such utter ruin is also. "Who are they?" refers to those debaters who possess a particular kind of adherence arising from small wisdom. "I say that those people possess great karmic obscurations" means that those debaters, with their particular kind of adherence arising from their own small wisdom, will be utterly ruined by the decline of not having obtained wisdom and virtuous qualities, and although misdeeds will not increase, the basis for utterly ruining the two kinds of listeners will increase other misdeeds and will be temporarily exhausted. This is the third aspect of extensively explaining adherence to differences. After that, the meaning of the words of the fourth aspect of extensively explaining adherence to differences, etc., will be explained. "Separated from all and needing to be led" means those who have not properly established their lineage, who have no adherence, and whose wisdom is deficient, need to be seized and led by the wise with the rope of compassion. For those truly excellent ones, which sentient beings have not generated roots of virtue, have not completely purified obscurations, and whose continuums have not fully matured—this shows that they have not properly established their lineage. "Little adherence" shows that they have no adherence. Merit
