This shows separation from the basis of transformation. Regarding the term "born from lineage and faith," the term "from" should also be associated with "the difference of faith born from those two bases." The term "difference of faith" here should be understood as faith in the Dharma and meaning, therefore, it is said that "one does not abide in holding one's own view as supreme," and the view itself should be associated with the form of faith. What are those? "If I hear that Dharma, my thought is that even if I cannot fully understand whether what is said is as it is," this shows the difference of faith born from lineage. Because one has lineage, therefore one has the basis of being qualified, so like before, one will hear that Dharma; because one does not have perfect lineage, therefore one does not have a perfect basis of being qualified, so like before, one cannot fully understand whether what is said is as it is. However, "faith and confidence arise in that Dharma," until "one cannot combine in the form of practice," this shows the difference born from faith. Because one has faith, therefore one has the basis of combining with the Bodhisattva conduct, so like before, one will have faith in that Dharma; because one does not have perfect faith, therefore combining with the Bodhisattva conduct is not perfect, so like before, one cannot obtain the faith of realization. It is said that "these Sutras" are the same as what was said before, "the form of proclaiming Sutras of provisional meaning." The so-called "profound" refers to nature. The so-called "profound inner" refers to the yogi profoundly realizing and being able to appear in the mind. The so-called "having emptiness" refers to being thoroughly distinguished by the absence of self of phenomena. The so-called "difficult to see" refers to not being able to see by other means between the path of seeing and the path of no interruption not arising. The so-called "difficult to realize" refers to not being able to realize by other means between the path of meditation and the path of liberation not arising. The so-called "inconceivable" refers to not being able to measure by measure. The so-called "not the object of speculation" refers to the noble ones individually.

Because it is the domain of wisdom's knowledge. "Subtle" refers to the wisdom that understands the meaning of suchness. "Investigation" refers to the wisdom that understands the meaning of decisiveness. "Virtuous" refers to the wisdom that arises from practice. "Intelligent" refers to the wisdom that is innate. A person who possesses these four sharp wisdoms is called subtle, investigative, virtuous, and intelligent. Such a person will believe and understand, "This is knowledge," and should be connected in this way. They mainly show the nature of what was previously said, "believing in this Dharma," which should be known. The sutras say "I do not know," etc., mainly showing the nature of what was previously said, "not clinging to one's own view as supreme." Through this method, it should also be connected to show the nature of faith and understanding. "Buddha's Bodhi" refers to realization and comprehension. "The Dharma-nature of all Dharmas" refers to the Dharma-nature without addition or slander. "Entering with various beliefs" refers to teaching from various paths, according to the beliefs of those to be tamed. The sutras say "They become familiar with these sutras and also write them down," etc., mainly showing the nature of what was previously said, "can also obtain wealth." From this path, it should also be connected to show the differences in faith and understanding. "Cannot practice through the method of meditation" refers to showing the cause of separation from wisdom. Because wisdom arises from relying on the method of meditation. Therefore, they say "From that basis," etc., referring to the previously mentioned merit and wisdom and their causes and results, which will become wise through gradual increase. Above it also says, "Also makes the immature continuum mature," which means that before becoming wise, it makes it have the basis to perfect the great Bodhi. This is the second extensive explanation of the differences in faith and understanding. Now we will explain the meaning of the words of the third extensive explanation of the differences in faith and understanding: knowledge.
