Oh! There are two kinds of complete purification of its subtle stains. What are they? They are the complete purification of the characteristic of non-attachment and the complete purification of the characteristic of non-obstruction. The Blessed One said, "Sons of good family, those who are called the Abhisamayas," this is a supreme term for uncontaminated wisdom. Bodhisattvas, with these five Abhisamayas, fully enjoy and also abide in uncontaminated wisdom. If a Bodhisattva possesses four qualities, they can fully ripen all sentient beings. These four are: not being discouraged, not being attached to one's own happiness, encouraging at the right time and the wrong time, and fully understanding the thoughts of others. There are also four: words that bring comfort, speaking pleasantly, gentle behavior, and a smiling face without a frown. The four mindfulnesses of the body of a Bodhisattva are mindfulnesses that possess two aspects. The two are contemplating the unattractive and contemplating the attractive separately. Among these, the unattractive is: Alas! This body is filled with impurities, is short-lived, and deceives children. The attractive is: With this body, if one sees the body of the Tathagata, the Dharma body, the merit body, the wisdom body, the Vajra body, the indestructible body, the uncontaminated body, and if one can obtain that which makes all sentient beings satisfied, that would be wonderful. Again, there are two aspects: the aspect of impermanence and the aspect of permanence. Among these, the aspect of impermanence is: Alas! This body is impermanent and is of the nature of decay, so do not be distressed for the sake of the body. The permanent is: All the roots of virtue that follow and abide in the body, for the sake of not cutting off the lineage of the Three Jewels and for the sake of completely protecting all sentient beings, are completely dedicated to unsurpassed Bodhi. By abiding in the four mindfulnesses, one abandons the four perversions: abandoning the perversion of purity in the body, the perversion of pleasure in feelings, the perversion of permanence in the mind, and the perversion of self in phenomena. In the Sutra of Golden Light, it says: If the body has no bones or blood, how could there be relics? For the benefit of sentient beings, he established expedient relics. What is said at other times about Nirvana and the relics remaining in the world is the skillful means of the Tathagata, for sentient beings to make offerings and

Those who make offerings and services should also be regarded as the power of the Tathagata's compassion and the roots of virtue. Therefore, those who make offerings and services will, in the future, completely abandon the eight unfavorable conditions, meet with the Tathagatas, possess virtuous friends, not abandon the mind of enlightenment, increase immeasurable merit, quickly escape from samsara, and not be controlled by the bonds of samsara. This is a supreme practice, so you should diligently practice and not be lazy. That sole Suchness, and the mere state of perfect wisdom, is called the Dharmakaya. The previous two bodies are merely designations. The Dharmakaya is the true one, and it is the basis of that body. Why? Because apart from the Suchness of Dharma and the wisdom of discrimination, there is no Buddha Dharma whatsoever. Son of the lineage, just as, for example, relying on the discriminating mind, many forms of afflictions, actions, and results are shown, so too, relying on the Dharma-nature of Dharma and the wisdom of Suchness, various Dharmas of the three vehicles are shown. For example, the sun and moon have no discrimination, water and mirrors have no discrimination, and appearances have no discrimination, but when the three come together, an image arises. Similarly, Suchness and the wisdom of Suchness have no discrimination, but by the power of aspiration, for fortunate sentient beings, the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya also arise from the aggregation of causes and conditions, like the images of the sun and moon. Son of the lineage, furthermore, for example, countless waters and mirrors, relying on appearances, will show empty images with different characteristics. Emptiness is called without characteristics. Similarly, the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya, by the power of aspiration, in order to show the image of the Dharmakaya to the retinues, these two bodies appear, and although various characteristics appear, the abiding place of the Dharmakaya has no different characteristics. Son of the lineage, abiding in that very body, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are said to have passed into Nirvana with the residue of aggregates.
