Because of obscurations and not abandoning the habitual tendencies of karma, they have not realized the selflessness of phenomena, nor have they attained the inconceivable transference of death. Therefore, the three vehicles were taught to the Shravakas, not just one. When those of great intelligence have abandoned all the negative habitual tendencies and realized the selflessness of phenomena, it is when they are freed from the faults of habitual tendencies and become intoxicated by samadhi. Then, they awaken from the realm of the uncontaminated, and completely fulfill the accumulations belonging to the uncontaminated realm of both the mundane and the transcendent. Thus, they will fully attain the power over the inconceivable Dharmakaya. Although there is no establishment of vehicles, I have taught different vehicles in order to tame sentient beings. I have also taught the one vehicle. The state of mind becomes very intense, and one obtains other doors of samadhi like illusion. The flowers of signs, powers, and various kinds of clairvoyance blossom. Being equal to the speed of mind, like illusion, dreams, and reflections, arising from what is not caused by the elements, and resembling what is caused by the elements, the various limbs of all forms gather, and that body which follows in the circle of retinues in all Buddha-fields is the realization of the nature of Dharma, and is therefore called the body. All views are completely reversed, and conceptualization and imputation are abandoned. In the absence of an object of focus and in the absence of arising, I have also taught mind-only. Neither real nor unreal, having abandoned real and unreal, likewise, liberation from the mind, I have also taught mind-only. Likewise, the limit of suchness and emptiness, Nirvana and the realm of Dharma, the various mind-made bodies, I have also taught mind-only. It is the connection of conceptual thought and habitual tendencies, arising from various minds. To people, it appears as external objects. This is the mind-only of worldly people. External appearances are completely non-existent. The mind appears in various forms. Body, enjoyment, and place are similar. I have taught mind-only. In the presence of the Buddha, a materialistic Brahmin asked many questions, such as: Is everything made or unmade? Is it permanent or impermanent? Is it one or different? The Buddha answered:

All who say such things are those who have a worldly far-reaching view. Hey, Brahmin, this worldly far-reaching view is not yours, it is not like that. Brahmin, I show that from beginningless time, the three realms of existence arise from the causes of habits of elaboration and conceptualization, and the causes of bad destinies. Brahmin, that also arises from conceptualization because one has not understood that it is merely the appearance of one's own mind. It is not from focusing on external objects. For example, it is not like the meeting of the self, senses, and objects of the non-Buddhists. Hey, Brahmin, I do not say that there is a cause, nor do I say that there is no cause. Otherwise, the very conceptualization itself will completely destroy the objects of grasping and being grasped, and thus show dependent origination. Others like you and those of lineages who fall into grasping at a self will not understand. Furthermore, the wise Brahmin, the worldly far-seer says this to me. Hey, Gautama, do these three realms of existence arise from the causes of ignorance, craving, and karma? Or do they not arise from causes? Brahmin, both of these are also the views of worldly far-seers. Hey, Gautama, do all things fall into the definition of self-character and general character? Hey, Brahmin, that is also a worldly far-reaching view. Brahmin, the more one is moved from the mind, the more one clings to external objects and conceptualizes, the more one is a worldly far-seer. Like a form in a mirror, although it appears, it is not real. Habits are in the mirror, children see two aspects in their minds. Because they do not know the appearance of the mind, two kinds of conceptualizations arise. When one fully knows the appearance of the mind, then conceptualizations do not arise. The mind is a variety of changes, abandoning the basis of characteristics and characteristics. Just as children speculate, the appearance of appearance is without appearance. Since the three realms of existence are merely conceptualization, external objects are all without meaning. The appearance of various conceptualizations is not understood by children. For as long as one makes promises, at that time everything is mixed up. One should look only at one's own mind, and should not seek disputes. Wise one, if one proclaims the ālaya-vijñāna, then the tathāgatagarbha is negated.
