Also, the four fearlessnesses are similarly said by the Buddha to be conventional truths. From the Jewel Cloud Sutra: If the mind is not skillful, one will think of these dharmas as being like illusions, these dharmas as being like dreams, these dharmas as being good, these dharmas as being not good, these dharmas as being arising, these dharmas as being not arising, thus discriminating all dharmas. One will think: All these dharmas reside in the mind, arise from the mind, and the mind is their condition. Therefore, one should extremely restrain the mind, extremely subdue the mind, and extremely absorb the mind. Then, all those dharmas will also be extremely restrained, extremely subdued, and extremely absorbed. Seeing the dharmas in this way, one will strive to pacify the mind through that cause and that condition, but one will not rely on the mind itself. How is a Bodhisattva skilled in dedicating? Those flowers or fruits, etc., that have no concept of "I" and are not grasped, are offered to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas three times a day, morning, noon, and evening. And that root of virtue is dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Similarly, flower trees, etc., are also dedicated. Listening, contemplating, and resolving, one dedicates the vast forms of offerings to the sutras. How is a Bodhisattva skilled in leading from one place to another? For those beings who are capable and have the potential to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, if they initially strive in the Hearer or Solitary Realizer vehicle, and one sees that they are striving and diligent, one leads them from that position, and also makes distinctions there, and then places them in the Great Vehicle. Thus, one is skilled in leading from one place to another. A Bodhisattva does not teach the Dharma to beings who have not become vessels (capable ones). Not to angry people, not to fault-finders, not to non-Buddhists, not to those without wisdom, not to those without faith, not to those who use deceit and hypocrisy as a means, not to those who have thoughts of survival, not to those who crave profit and respect, not to jealous people, not to miserly people, not to foolish, dull, sheep-like silent people. Why? Because of miserliness towards the Dharma.

Nor do they turn their backs on the welfare of sentient beings. Rather, thinking that these sentient beings are not vessels for the Tathagata's Dharma-Vinaya, they remain neutral. What kind of sentient beings do the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas teach the Dharma to? They teach it to sentient beings who are joyful, whose roots of virtue are mature, who are vessels, who are not deceitful, whose conduct is upright, who are not attached to gain, who are not attached to respect, who have good conduct, who are able to be taught well, whose faculties are sharp, and who act according to what has been said. Bodhisattvas are those who fully uphold the Great Vehicle, and they honor those who fully uphold it with the perception of Dharma-mates, with drawings and the like, and they devote themselves to, incline towards, and enter the Great Vehicle. Therefore, the mind of enlightenment should not be offended. What are the faults? They are desiring gain and respect, being attached to lineage and clan, being attached to views, not regarding small sins as fearful, not being afraid of death, not contemplating, perceiving a wrong path as the path, being attached to immediate tasks, not praising the Great Vehicle and those who teach it, praising the Hearer Vehicle and those who teach it, being fond of debate, being arrogant, being rude, being very presumptuous, being stubborn, being unpleasant, speaking indistinctly, speaking disrespectfully, and speaking harshly. Therefore, those who are skilled in these faults should practice yoga by meditating on emptiness in order to be free from all elaborations. This is the discipline of the Bodhisattvas. From the Lankavatara Sutra: Lord of Lanka! Although arising from a single seed, there are differences such as sprouts, shoots, stems, joints, branches, flowers, fruits, and grains. Similarly, the inner and outer dharmas, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases that arise from ignorance, and all the dharmas that arise in the three realms, all have the nature of bliss, and differences in speech and behavior appear. The consciousness that has the same characteristic manifests attachment to objects, with differences such as superior, middling, and inferior.
