Will be devoted to this. The five are: My actions will not be in vain, my actions are perfumed by habits, abandoning all attachments, not being blamed by the Buddha, and teaching the Dharma so that I can liberate others after I am liberated. The Bodhisattva obtains unshakable faith and sees that it arises from perversion. If he fully knows that all dharmas are like dreams, then he abides in the state of profound Dharma. If he possesses two dharmas, the Bodhisattva will not fall into nihilistic views, that is, knowing how to engage in actions of karma, and knowing how to accomplish all the Buddha's teachings as they are. If he possesses two dharmas, he will not fall into eternalistic views, that is, entering the impermanent Dharma, and knowing how to distinguish between arising, decaying, dissolving, and not abiding. What is the meditation of a Bodhisattva abiding in the realm of wisdom? That is, not cultivating the limbs of meditation of body and mind, as well as thoughts and actions, but entering into samadhi in such a way that he enters into samadhi in such a way as Suchness, the true limit, and the Dharmadhatu, then he will subdue all samadhis with characteristics. His roots of virtue and meditation are also mostly part of wisdom, and are free from the afflictions of views. Dedication to Bodhi and maturing sentient beings will also be accomplished, therefore, the Tathagata attains Nirvana with one samadhi. The Bodhisattva comes and sits in the midst of the retinue. If someone interrupts the discussion of the profound Dharma and talks about various miscellaneous things, then he is striving to make the True Dharma decline. In addition, few people like to listen to worldly dharmas, but many listen to non-dharmas.

Pa. Likewise, all dharmas arise from attention, because all dharmas are without action. They are all accomplished as desired. King Ajatashatru asked: Blessed One, if one goes to the great ocean, where is the collection of water? The Blessed One replied: When a monk enters into the samadhi of the fire element, if one sees the three thousand great thousand worlds completely filled with fire, then where has that mass of water gone? He asked: That is because the mind that has obtained mastery over samadhi has become so capable that it has transformed. The Blessed One replied: If you think that the mind of a Shravaka is capable, so it has transformed like that, do you not think that the Tathagata, who possesses all dharmas, is also like that? When I am the Tathagata, the sentient beings who live in the water think that they themselves live in the water. Those who live on land see that the great ocean has dried up. The gods suffer, having the same law of death and change. People seek suffering and anger. The suffering of hell beings is harm. Mutual killing is the suffering of animals. The suffering of pretas is hunger and thirst. From the realm of the Buddha. Then, King Clear Glory sat before him, took off the precious clothes he was holding in his hand and wearing, offered them to the Blessed One, and said: Blessed One, this precious garment of mine is accomplished from the maturation of previous karma, please accept it. The Blessed One replied: Great King, one should strive in these four dharmas. King, as a king of the royal lineage, having been empowered from the crown of the head, one should go to the shramanas and brahmins who possess morality and ask them questions, practice in order to protect the teachings of the Tathagata, rejoice in order to seek the profound, and rejoice in order to determine the truth by being free from wrong views. From completely holding the roots of virtue, son of the lineage, in short, all the Buddha's teachings depend on completely seeking the Dharma. The so-called Bodhisattva is the mind that is close to the Buddha, therefore it is called Bodhisattva. The so-called Bodhi is emptiness.

That is Bodhi. What is emptiness called empty of? It is empty of all dharmas. The superior intention of a Bodhisattva should be known in three ways: The first superior intention is to have the function of completely seeing all things. The second is to completely seek the Dharma, to receive, hold, and grasp it, without any attachment to self. The third is not to abandon the profound Dharma, to enter the Bodhi of the Buddha, and to be without laziness. These four are the cause of happiness: the four are seeing the Tathagata, obtaining leisure and endowments, finding faith in the Dharma and Vinaya of the Tathagata, and having upright and complete views. There was a householder named Vairambha, a wife with a beautiful form, and a son of the Shakyas named Krishna Datta. If one possesses four qualities, even if one changes lives, one will not forget one's memory: the four are seeking the Dharma, not being satisfied with generosity, leading other beings to engage in unsurpassed Bodhi, proclaiming the qualities of the Tathagata, and having patience with the profound Dharma. One is also not distracted in order to please the Tathagata, and one is mindful and aware in order to keep the Dharma in mind. Having patience with the profound Dharma and being a maker of death. The four dharmas are the supreme accomplishment of entering the Great Vehicle: the four are striving to seek the sacred Dharma when the Bodhi of the Buddha is destroyed and the sacred Dharma declines. If the stupa of the Tathagata is destroyed, it is later restored, and even if life and limb are at stake, the Dharma is not abandoned. If one sees suffering beings, one generates compassion. Having obtained compassion, one exerts effort, thinking, "When will I become a Buddha, and for the sake of destroying the suffering of those beings, I should teach the Dharma?" A Bodhisattva benefiting beings with the Dharma is accomplishing uncontaminated bliss, but if one repays with the clothing of beings, etc., that is contaminated. How can one repay in that way? Sharadvatiputra asked: "From now on, if we teach the Dharma to others, we should first begin by teaching from the Bodhisattva Vehicle, and the Hearer Vehicle should be taught later."
