Is there such an attachment? Has there been such an attachment? Will there be such an attachment? Asked. Except for perversion, that is not so. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they manifest the divine eye. With the divine eye, they see all phenomena as emptiness. Therefore, they abide in these phenomena and manifest the path. Sharadvatiputra, all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, we have practiced the six perfections, completely ripened sentient beings, completely purified the Buddha-fields, and perfected the ten powers of the Tathagata, fearlessness, individual perfect knowledge, loving-kindness, great compassion, and the unmixed Buddha-dharmas. Do they think of completely liberating immeasurable sentient beings from suffering? Asked. They do not think that way. The Buddha said: A Bodhisattva thinks that way. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, will those five aggregates, which are like dreams, illusions, echoes, mirages, water moons, mirages, and apparitions, become all-knowingness by training in the Perfection of Wisdom? Asked. Blessed One, that will not happen. Why is that? Blessed One, because from dreams to apparitions, their nature is without substance. That nature without substance is invisible. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is like this: form is like a dream, feeling is like a dream, perception is like a dream, formation is like a dream, consciousness is like a dream. What is consciousness? That is the six faculties. That is the five aggregates. They are invisible because of inner emptiness, and invisible because of the nature of non-substantiality. Subhuti, from form to consciousness, they are like illusions, echoes, mirages, water moons, mirages, and apparitions. What is consciousness? That is the six faculties. That is the five aggregates. They are invisible because of inner emptiness, and invisible because of the nature of non-substantiality.

Olava, Blessed One, if that is so, will a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the path be afraid, hate, and be frightened upon hearing this? The Buddha said: Rabjor, if he is newly entered into the vehicle and is not skilled in means, and comes into the hands of an unwholesome spiritual friend, then it will be so. Asked: What is the skillful means by which a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, upon hearing this teaching, will not be afraid, not hate, and not be frightened, and will practice the Perfection of Wisdom? The Buddha said: Rabjor, when a Bodhisattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with a mind endowed with the knowledge of all aspects, he understands that form is impermanent, but does not fixate on it. From feeling to consciousness, he understands that it is impermanent, but does not fixate on it. Rabjor, that is the skillful means of practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. From form to consciousness, suffering, selflessness, peace, emptiness, signlessness, and so forth, he does not fixate on them. Rabjor, that is the skillful means of practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. Asked: Blessed One, what are conditioned dharmas? The Buddha said: Rabjor, conditioned dharmas are the desire realm, the form realm, the formless realm, and other dharmas that do not belong to these realms but belong to the conditioned realm, from the four mindfulnesses to the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. Through these, one understands conditioned dharmas, therefore it is called dharma. Asked: What are unconditioned dharmas? The Buddha said: Rabjor, unconditioned dharmas are the basis that has no birth and no destruction, and no change from abiding to another state, that is, the exhaustion of desire, the exhaustion of hatred, the exhaustion of delusion, suchness that is not mistaken, suchness that is not other, suchness, the sphere of dharma, the very nature of dharma without fault, the inconceivable sphere, the true limit. These are called unconditioned dharmas. What, then, is the Bodhisattva's undefiled differentiation of the giving of dharma? It is that when teaching the dharma, the giving of dharma reduces the expectation of enlightenment.
