By perfecting this action with this diligence, beings will become heroes. In the past, the Buddha, the lord of the three realms, prophesied that the Blessed One Shakyamuni, who was the Brahmin Moon's Brow, would become a Buddha named "World Illuminating Beautiful" after sixty billion kalpas in the future, and his lifespan would be eighty billion years. In the past, before the Buddha's fame had matured, when the Blessed One Shakyamuni was a bodhisattva acting as a guru, he made this vow: "Until I quickly realize the direct perception of beings in that Buddha-field, do not enter nirvana through the path of bliss, do not be born in the three lower realms, there is no sound of suffering, and all beings have not exhausted samsara, I will not manifest enlightenment." Bodhisattvas should learn all the names of people, villages, and countries, and all worldly knowledge. When Buddha Shakyamuni was formerly the teacher Good Eyes, he was troubled by the faults of the desire realm, and the two realms of the form realm were the same, so beings had no protection. I should not abide in all actions, and if I do not abide, I will not move. Thus, he entered the samadhi of not abiding in all dharmas, and obtained the compassionate mind of benefiting beings. By teaching this dharma, he caused countless beings to enter the nirvana of non-abiding. A bodhisattva who initiates diligence can overcome the five maras. What are the five? The mara of afflictions, the mara of karma, the mara of aggregates, the mara of death, and the mara of the son of the gods. All dharmas arise from the mind, and all dharmas cease from the mind. As the mind's discrimination is, so the image of all dharmas appears. In the Sutra of the Measure of Life, it is said: "The lifespan of people in the north whose speech is unpleasant is a thousand years, and there is no death in the intermediate state." In the Prophecy of the Good Illusionist, it is said: "There are four paths to enter the essence of bodhicitta: not abandoning the mind of omniscience, not knowing satisfaction in seeking all roots of virtue, and striving to practice the true dharma." These four are to be heard.
