It is the earth. Among them, what is the wisdom liberated by means? It is to definitely focus on characteristics and so on, and to become familiar with emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. This is the wisdom embraced by means, which is liberation. Among them, what is the means bound by not being embraced by wisdom? For example, all views, as well as the arising of afflictions, as well as latent tendencies, as well as rejoicing, as well as all roots of virtue that abide in anger, not dedicating them to enlightenment, are means not embraced by wisdom, which are bonds. Among them, what is the means liberated by being embraced by wisdom? For example, all views, abandoning afflictions and so on, all roots of virtue that are performed are completely dedicated to enlightenment, and without being arrogant about it, this is the means embraced by wisdom, which is liberation. Ananda, wherever there are Buddha-fields where Bodhisattvas perform the deeds of the Buddhas, wherever there is light, wherever there is the Bodhi tree, wherever there is the name of the Tathagata, wherever there is Dharma, wherever there are offerings of food and so on, there are Buddha-fields created by the Buddhas. In the Noble Jewel's End Sutra, it says, "If one is devoted to what he has taught, doing what is incomparable, and knows that the realm of the five inexpiable sins is also suchness, then he will not become completely afflicted. Why? Manjushri, the five inexpiable sins are equally the same in the realm of Dharma, thus the realm of the five inexpiable sins and the realm of Dharma are non-dual and cannot be made into two." Having aroused the superior intention, if a person of the Maitreya Bodhisattva vehicle possesses four qualities, then in the last five hundred years, when the holy Dharma is destroyed, he will be completely liberated in bliss without being harmed or blamed. What are the four? To separately understand one's own delusions, not to speak of the faults of other Bodhisattva vehicle persons, not to look at the houses of friends and the houses that give alms, and to abandon unpleasant words. Again, there are four: to completely abandon beings with little learning, not to gather retinues, to rely on remote dwellings, and to be disciplined, peaceful, and diligent in the practice of calm abiding.

. Compassionate one, now, do not say of a pretender, "He dwells in a monastery." Do not say of me, who has little merit, "He has few desires." Do not say of me, who desires good food, "He is an almsman." Do not say of me, who desires fine cloth, "He is one who wears rags." Do not say of me, who mixes with householders and renunciates, "He is unmixed." Do not say of a deceitful person, "He has met with the appearance of a Buddha." Do not say of one who seeks the faults of others, "He is diligent in yoga." Do not say of one who has much anger, "He is one whose aggregate of discipline is completely pure." Do not say of an arrogant person, "He is learned." Do not say of a partisan, "He is a holder of the Vinaya." Do not say of a frivolous person, "He is a speaker of Dharma." Do not say of one who mixes with householders, "He is one who makes offerings, completely pure." Do not say of a sacred object of offering, "He is one who gives completely, without defilement." Do not say of one who hopes for a return of help, "He is an object of gathering." Do not say of one who is attached to gain and honor, "He is one whose superior intention is completely pure." Do not say of one who talks much, "He is a renunciate." Do not say of one who surpasses others, "He is one who desires to learn." Do not say of one who is disrespectful, "He is one who gives Dharma." Do not say of one who is devoted to worldly secrets, "He is one who delights in possessions." Do not say of one who does not strive for stability itself, "He is one who has renounced." Do not say of one who has an object of focus, "He is one who has realized." Do not say of one who is powerless, "He is one who has perfected patience." Do not say of one who is unpretentious, "He is one who has the armor of the power of patience." Do not say of one who is naturally small in desire, "He is one who dwells in delight in pure conduct." Do not say of one who does not abide in action, "He is one who acts as he speaks." Do not say of one who has become endowed with means, "He is deceitful." Do not say of one who is disheartened, "He is without arrogance." In the Sutra Requested by Sagacious Hand: Sagacious Hand, the Bodhisattva, when begged by beggars, does not give limbs and his own hands when they are cut off by the beggars. Why? Because those themselves will become great hell beings, and will completely experience great, extensive non-virtuous actions.
