The departed lord received half of the relics of the Tathagata from the Tathagata. The Blessed One said to Indra, the lord of the gods: The Tathagata sees all sentient beings as if they were his son Rahula. Therefore, do not say that you want half of the relics. Why? Because he equally does what benefits all sentient beings. The Blessed One said to Indra, the lord of the gods: I will give you one canine tooth from the right side of my jaw. You should build a stupa in the world of the gods and make offerings to it, and you will obtain inexhaustible merit. At that time, all the gods and humans wailed and mourned. Then, the Blessed One said to the fourfold assembly: When the Buddha passes into nirvana, gods, humans, and others, you should not grieve. Why? Because even though the Buddha has passed into nirvana, the relics can still be offered to. Furthermore, there are the unsurpassed Buddha Jewel, the Sutras, the Vinaya, and the Abhidharma. Therefore, the Three Jewels and the Four Truths will always exist in the world. Sentient beings have a place to make offerings with faith. Why? Because offering to the relics is offering to the Buddha Jewel. Seeing the Buddha is seeing the Dharmakaya. Seeing the Dharma is seeing the Noble Ones. Seeing the Noble Ones is seeing the Four Truths. Seeing the Four Truths is definitely seeing Nirvana. Therefore, the Three Jewels are eternal, abiding, unchanging, and unmoving. They should be known as the place and refuge of the world. The Blessed One said to the many attendants: Do not grieve excessively, do not make great lamentations because I am destined to pass into nirvana. If you have any doubts about discipline, dwelling, permanence, impermanence, the Three Jewels, the Four Truths, the Six Perfections, or the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination, ask quickly. This is the last question. After the Buddha passes into nirvana, do not have regrets. He said this three times.

The four assemblies and others were distressed in their minds by sorrow. Their voices choked, their hearts filled with disappointment, and they fainted from grief. The Buddha, with his blessing power, wiped away their tears, remaining silent and without any requests. What was the reason for this? It was because all of these four assemblies had truly realized the precepts, meditation, the Three Jewels, and the Four Noble Truths, becoming free from doubt. At that time, the Blessed One, knowing in his heart that the four assemblies were without doubt, praised them, saying, 'Good! Good! Very good! Four assemblies, you have thoroughly realized the Three Jewels and the Four Noble Truths, being without doubt, just as water washes away dirt. You should also strive diligently and quickly attain the path of liberation. Do not be discouraged merely by sorrow.' At that time, the Blessed One, while seated on the lion throne, put down his robe with his golden hand, and from the lion throne, which was like the color of pure gold, he took out a glorious knot and showed it to the many attendants, saying, 'Gods, humans, and many attendants, look at my body, which is like the color of pure gold.' At that time, the four assemblies and all others gazed without blinking at the Tathagata's body, which was like the color of pure gold, feeling great joy, just as monks are skilled in the three trainings. At that time, the Blessed One showed his body, which was like the color of pure gold, to the many attendants, and then emitted immeasurable and boundless great light of Nirvana, illuminating all the realms of the ten directions, even suppressing the light of the sun and moon. After emitting such light, he said to the many attendants, 'The Tathagata, for your sake, has practiced extremely difficult practices for countless eons, even cutting off limbs and feet, and practicing all extremely difficult practices. By the power of the aspiration of great compassion, in this world of the five degenerations, I have manifested as the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, obtaining a vajra-like, indestructible body of the color of pure gold, endowed with the thirty-two marks and'
