It is not suppressed by being suppressed. The essence of meaning transcends speech and thought. That which transcends speech, thought, and mind, remains immovable and unchanging. It is not that there is nothing, but from the great meaning, everything (Tibetan: སརྦ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: सर्व, Sanskrit Romanization: sarva, Chinese literal meaning: everything) arises. The basis of Nirvana also arises from it. The basis of the Sambhogakaya Buddha also arises from it. All sentient beings of the six realms, both their container and contents, also arise from it. In the mirror of the meaning of Dharmata, everything is completely and fully revealed. Everything (Tibetan: སརྦ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: सर्व, Sanskrit Romanization: sarva, Chinese literal meaning: everything) is clearly revealed without remainder. Although clear, it is shown that it has no self-nature. Although clear, it is shown that it has no name. For example, just as in the essence of freshly squeezed milk, the nature of ghee, although present in the base, is not separated. Similarly, in the mirror of the meaning of Dharmata, those three that exist together, although they have always existed, are shown to be inseparable. It is shown that it has always existed in the essence of vast expanse. This is the tenth chapter, which shows the mirror of the meaning of Dharmata in the wheel of the Jewel Contention. Again, the Great Sovereign asked: O venerable Great Teacher! Please reveal the mirror of the self-illuminating Dharmakaya. The Great Teacher replied: Great Sovereign, listen! If the three mirrors are not separated, it is like the cooking of a bad woman. Although there are many kinds of cooking, the best taste of food is lost. Although hand and mind strive, they only bring forth defilement again. Similarly, if the three mirrors are not distinguished, and the correct and incorrect are not determined, those false teachers who deceive ordinary people, hoping for the fruit of Buddhahood, will fall into the three lower realms. Going to the three higher realms and falling into the three lower realms, these two situations, because those teachers who speak of names and terms have not distinguished them, they suppress the upper part of Samsara. Great Sovereign, like this, in the mirror of the self-illuminating Dharmakaya, everything is clearly revealed without remainder. I will explain it to you in detail. Great Sovereign, do not be distracted, because this is the clarity of the three mirrors. Therefore, listen with the reverence of body, speech, and mind. This, called the self-illuminating Dharmakaya mirror, from beginningless time, there were not even the names of Buddha and sentient beings, no names of Samsara and Nirvana, no names of male, female, and neuter, no names of birth and aging, no names of sickness and death, no attachment and aversion.

The name of five is also absent. The name of the five wisdoms is also absent. The names of sunrise and sunset are also absent. The names of colors, white and red, are also absent. In the sickness of the three mirrors, three characteristics arise. The characteristic of speech arises in three ways. The characteristic of mind arises in three ways. The characteristic of objects arises in three ways. In the very nature of the clear mirror of reality, the body abides as the unconditioned Dharmakaya. Speech abides as the unwavering speech. Mind abides as self-illuminating, without thought. Objects abide as the realm of the Dharma-nature, the sky. Thus abiding, the Dharmakaya is self-illuminating, clear within the mirror. Within the self-illuminating, clear mirror of the Dharmakaya, the body abides as the Sambhogakaya. Speech abides as speech like thunder. Mind abides as mind like a gentle breeze. Objects abide as the play of the body. Thus, within the clear mirror, when rising and falling occur in the mind like a gentle breeze, because of never having been confused before, the true nature of rising and falling is not known. The self-illuminating qualities of the Dharmakaya do not recognize themselves. The qualities of the clear Dharmakaya appear as faults. For example, on the surface of a deep and vast ocean, when a lion shakes its head, bares its teeth, and raises its mane, the lion in the water, not recognizing that it is its own quality, shakes its head as it does, and the lion in the water shakes its head in the same way. Thinking it is challenging me, great pride arises. Because of the arising of pride, it jumps into the water. Because it does not recognize itself, the confusion is very great. Likewise, within the clear mirror, the Dharmakaya has color and form, just as the image of a lion appears clearly in the water. The nature of the body appears very clearly. Not recognizing that the clarity is its own quality, holding to one thing as two arises, as is clear in the commentary on sickness. Because the rising and falling of awareness are not recognized, the five attachments arise, as is clear in the commentary. For example, rising and falling occur in the wind like a gentle breeze. From the rising and falling in the mind like a gentle breeze, birth and aging, sickness and death, appearing as male and female, sunrise and sunset, dusk and dawn arise. Because the rising and falling of one's own awareness are not recognized, it becomes the root of confusion and cycles.
