The subsequent designation of terms from differences also comes from the scriptures, such as in the "Noble Dense Array Sutra": "Understanding the absence of horns on a rabbit also arises from understanding the presence of horns on a cow." Also, in the "Noble Manjushri's Pure Land Adornment Sutra," it is said: "The qualities and adornments of the Buddha-field of the Tathagata Light Always Adorning Qualities King are complete and perfect, and the qualities and adornments of the Buddha-field of the Tathagata Samantadarshin are also complete and perfect, with no excess or deficiency." Thus it is said. What are the causes and conditions for generating these formations and subsequently designating terms? There are six causes and four conditions for arising. According to the Abhidharma, the causes are: pervasive cause, co-emergent cause, homogenous cause, universal cause, maturation cause, and active cause, totaling six. The conditions are: causal condition, immediate condition, objective condition, and dominant condition, totaling four. Among these, the causal condition is the five causes. The immediate condition is all arising minds and mental factors except for the last mind and mental factors of an Arhat. The objective condition is all phenomena. The dominant condition is the active cause. Among these, the causes and conditions for subsequently designating terms are the many names, etc., that come from the Abhidharma. Among these, the collection of names is the collection of words. The collection of words is the collection of speech. The collection of syllables is the collection of letters. This is the first chapter, the chapter on the nature of dependent reasoning. Regarding the nature of the logic of action, it is said, "Those that become causes and conditions for obtaining phenomena, or for speaking, or for acting after arising, are the logic of action." This is now explained. Among these, obtaining refers to gaining and possessing, that is, obtaining the cause merely as a seed, and obtaining the nature of the fruit, two types. What is obtaining the cause merely as a seed? It is the root of virtue for obtaining the noble ground and fruit, and the merit that will lead to obtaining the happiness of gods and humans.

And having done, the sins of experiencing the suffering of evil destinies, and the unspecified similar causes, all possess habitual tendencies like their seeds. What is the nature of obtaining the fruit? It is the actual attainment of their fruits, namely liberation from suffering, and the actual attainment of grounds and fruits, or the attainment of the fruit of merit, or the experience of the fruit of sin. Growth means that on the basis of whatever object, it makes the meaning completely perfect. For example, from seedling to tree, or until the fruit ripens, one must protect it from harm and perfect it by diligently accumulating benefits. Just as with a seedling, one must thoroughly accomplish the state in which worldly phenomena begin to arise, and completely increase the higher grounds by attaining the noble grounds, and so forth. What is to be done after birth is that as long as those things exist, one must do what is to be done. For example, after trees and the like have grown, the vines do the work of binding, the trunks do the work of pillars, the flowers do the work of ornamentation, the leaves do the work of wrapping, and the fruits do the work of satiation. In the sacred Dharma, according to the differences of one's own ground, benefiting sentient beings also leads each to their respective paths from different methods, thereby producing their respective fruits, which are determined to be the cause of any Dharma. The six faculties, together with consciousness, will certainly enter into their respective objects. Birds and the like fly, fish and the like swim, and in this way, because various things have their own power, they do what is appropriate for each. Being called their cause and condition means belonging to the component parts and basis of what is done. These are the six causes and four conditions mentioned above. This is the second chapter on the characteristics of the reasoning of action. To affirm and demonstrate the characteristics of reasoning, one vows: In order to prove the meaning of what is said and to understand correctly, those that are the cause and the condition are the reasoning of proving the reasoning. The following is an explanation of this. Among them, vowing means that, just as it is said, the fruit
