Son, when the power of the seed weakens, it turns into chaff when it ripens, which is a similar aspect. At that time, the grain is not fully ripe, which is a dissimilar aspect. Even if the seed is bad, among the things that grow from the field, some are harvested before they are ripe. Even from a single ear of grain, some fruits are full, and some are empty shells. Although there is no difference in the ear of grain, there is a difference in the fruits, which is also because the nature of the planted seed has not changed, which is a similar aspect. The difference between being ripe and unripe, and the fact that there are empty shells among the full fruits, is a dissimilar aspect. These should be understood as external dharmas. The result of actions that cause happiness and suffering to others is also the experience of the ripening of happiness and suffering, and within that, whatever conditions are encountered will transform into that difference. As it says in the Sutra of Distinctions by the Noble One: "Evil actions arising from desire cause rebirth in the lower realms, such as peacocks, whose feathers are ugly and repulsive." Like this, because of the sins of committing evil deeds, one will also be reborn in the lower realms, but because there is also love in the mind that possesses desire, the feathers will also become beautiful and pleasing, which is a similar aspect. Desire is formless, but it transforms into differences in color, and a person who breaks their vows is reborn as a bird, which is a dissimilar aspect. In the One Hundred Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, it says: "Giving that is universally present and keeping vows, etc., are called transcendent of the world, because they do not move, shake, or jump from the world." Like this, the merit of doing good deeds such as giving will also ripen into the perfections of the world, but because it is not dedicated to the meaning of transcending the world, it does not accomplish the result of transcending the world, which is a similar aspect. Like giving, doing it for others will become one's own enjoyment, but if one is stingy and keeps it for oneself, one will become poor, which is a dissimilar aspect. From the Sutra of the Noble Remembrance of the Sacred Dharma, it says that even if one does a virtuous deed, whatever virtuous and non-virtuous deeds are done behind the action, one will experience their ripening separately, and as it says in the Vinaya, possessing mind

Moreover, from the completeness and incompleteness of the (disciplinary) branches, there is a transformation into stages such as defeat and coarseness. Although there are unwholesome sins, the differences in the results are different, which depends on the similarities. Therefore, for others, there is no difference in the experience of becoming happy and becoming suffering, but for oneself, the maturation of good and evil is different, which has differences. What is dependent on the differences? From horn to bamboo, this depends on the differences. Horn and bamboo are also similarly cut and sharpened and have fluff, which has similarities. From mud, a lotus is born, which depends on the differences. Being similar to aquatic plant species has similarities. The light of the sun shining on the frozen leather bag of a herder and the fire produced by rubbing trees depend on the differences. The warm nature of the sun as a condition has similarities. The sprouting of seedlings depends on the four great elements such as fields and water as conditions for growth, and the different colors and shapes depend on the differences. They are the same in the nature of the four great elements, which has similarities. Magicians gather grass, wood, tiles, etc., and manifest the forms and behaviors of sentient beings, but there is no behavior on the wood, which depends on the differences. The magician himself and the deities of mantras are also sentient beings, so as a condition, this has similarities. Due to the different boundaries of places, in some places, even if seeds are planted in nurseries, they can only survive two or three times, and in some places, even if seeds are sown, they will become nurseries in that way, and from the seeds of sourness, what difficulty is there in growing? From sourness to astringency, this depends on the differences. Nurseries and sown seeds are all the same kind of barley, and sourness and astringency are also the same kind inside the tree, which has similarities. It is not the difference of the field, but planting buckwheat seeds on the same piece of land, some will bloom but have no fruit, which depends on the differences. Being the same in the nature of buckwheat has similarities. These should be understood as external dharmas. The uncontaminated wisdom of the noble ones is to properly attend to the contaminated dharmas.
