Pa'o. In the characteristics of establishing the extremely pure Agama, whatever the all-knowing one said, such as "Nirvana is peace," and such forms, should be known as the characteristics of establishing the extremely pure Agama. Therefore, the ground of these five characteristics is completely pure through rational investigation. Because it is completely pure, it should be taught. Thus, the characteristics of that which was said are explained. The Dharma spoken by the all-knowing one is the scriptures with twelve branches. The meaning of all of them is that other than Nirvana, nothing else is spoken. Therefore, it is said, "Nirvana is peace." That Nirvana also has two forms, the way of the Mahayana and the way of the Shravakas. What are the two? It is understood that all Dharmas are inherently peaceful from the beginning, so they are naturally in Nirvana. Since there is no Dharma that can be reversed from Nirvana, it is shown to be peaceful through the non-abiding Nirvana and the Nirvana of the cessation of suffering, focusing on being weary of suffering. Such forms are the seven suchnesses of Dharmas, and so on. What are the seven? The suchness that arises from this Sutra is that which has no beginning or end of actions. The suchness of characteristics is the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of Dharmas in all Dharmas. The suchness of consciousness is that actions are only consciousness. The suchness of abiding is that I have explained the truth of suffering. The suchness of wrong effort is that I have explained the truth of the origin. The suchness of complete purification is that I have explained the truth of cessation. The suchness of right effort is that I have shown that I have explained the truth of the path. Those that are said should be explained. Those seven suchnesses also transform into two and two edges that are one and established in the way of the Mahayana and the way of the Shravakas. What are the two? The beginninglessness of actions is also the beginninglessness and endlessness of Samsara, and the two are the absence of a specific beginning and end of actions. Selflessness is also as observed by the heretics.

There is no such thing as "self," and all dharmas are like illusions, without self and duality. The so-called "actions are only consciousness" also means that the mind is the master of all actions, and all actions are only measured by the mind, and there is nothing else besides, these two. The truth of suffering also sees the five aggregates, tormented by the three sufferings and eight sufferings, so it is disgusted with samsara, and sees that all actions are suffering, so it generates great compassion for all sentient beings, these two. The truth of the origin of suffering also realizes that afflictions are the cause of the later aggregates, and also realizes that their nature is completely pure, these two. The truth of cessation also has the cessation of truth with objects and the cessation of truth without objects. The truth of the path is also the eightfold noble path and the ten paramitas, thus divided into two, it should be known that this is the difference between the meaning of guidance and the meaning of determination. In short, one should not deny the scriptures of the teacher who is superior to man only by the establishment of words and sentences, but must argue in accordance with the scriptures, therefore, all arguments and what is to be argued should be combined with the scriptures. The characteristic of the scriptures is that they are established by the Buddha, showing the door of liberation—the Dharma seal, namely emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. Why are the scriptures extremely pure? Because all the Buddhas of the three times all declare that they are in accordance with the Dharma, hence they are called scriptures. It has the characteristic of taking the Dharma as the standard, and it is not mixed with self-made impurities, so it is called extremely pure. How do these dharmas exist in the world? The Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Buddha, with wisdom, walking the right path, Sugata, Lokavidu, Purusadamyasarathi, Anuttara, Sasta Devanam Manusyanam, Buddha, Bhagavan, these names appear in the world, how he thoroughly understands all dharmas, and teaches others in this way, this is what he said. What is the difference between its cause and its greatness? The Tathagata comes from revealing the existence of beings, the appearance of the Tathagata is caused by one cause.
