Also known as the tenth. Named Navaanupuurva-vihaara-samaapattih. The name for gradually abiding in and entering the nine, which are the four dhyanas, the four formless absorptions, and the cessation absorption. Named the nine gradual abiding absorptions. The names for the doors of liberation, dharani, and abhijna. Named Triṇi-vimokṣa-mukha, these are the three doors of liberation. Through the three, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, one will pass beyond sorrow and they are the doors of liberation from samsara, therefore they are called the three doors of liberation. Named Dharani, which is retention. Because one retains the words and meanings of the Dharma without forgetting, through mindfulness and awareness, it is called retention. Named Ṣaḍ-abhijñā, these are the six abhijna, abhi is abhita, which means manifest. Jñā means wisdom. The divine eye, the divine ear, knowing the minds of others, the wisdom of remembering past lives, knowing the actions of magical powers, and knowing the exhaustion of defilements, these six are directly realized, therefore they are called the six abhijna. Among the eighteen emptinesses, named Adhyātma-śūnyatā, adhyātma means internal, śūnyatā means emptiness. The internal dharmas, eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, are not permanently existent, nor are they subject to destruction, therefore, in ultimate truth, the eye and so on have no substance, so it is called internal emptiness. Named Bahirdhā-śūnyatā, which is external emptiness. The external dharmas, form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas, are not permanently existent, nor are they subject to destruction, therefore, in ultimate truth, form and so on have no substance, so it is called external emptiness. Named Adhyātma-bahirdhā-śūnyatā, which is internal-external emptiness. The twelve internal-external ayatanas, in ultimate truth, both the grasped and the grasper are absent, because they are separated from the object and the nature of the object, so it is called internal-external emptiness. Named Śūnyatā-śūnyatā, which is emptiness of emptiness. The emptiness of emptiness of all dharmas is emptiness, because it cannot be made empty by other things, so it is called emptiness of emptiness. Named Maha-śūnyatā
