Chapter Seven, which explains the benefits of using oil well. Knowing the nature of horses, Being skilled in the treatises on horses, Performing the art of horse's life, Always delighting in benefiting horses. Possessing the nature of Shalihotra, Having the radiance of Brahma, sun, and fire, Making asceticism the main thing, The well-heard one, having arisen with doubt, Bowed to his two feet, And spoke these words in the manner of questioning: In your treatise on horses, The treatment of abscesses in the body, And likewise the treatment of foals, The rituals of weapons and protection, And the treatment of poisons themselves, The six branches have been well spoken, But you have not bestowed the instructions on nourishment and Aphrodisiac. If a horse has abundant semen, Its gait becomes light and its labor increases. By its very nature, There is no satisfaction for the mares. Because of that reason, the wise say, Others treat it like a horse. Therefore, some even say that people are treated like horses. Having understood the nature of horses, How does one become an aphrodisiac? The combination of nourishment, And the reasons for those, O excellent and supreme in wisdom, I wish to fully understand from you. Having thus fully inquired, The excellent sage said: Well-heard one, the reason for this, Has various forms, For now, let me speak only of the initial nourishment for horses. That is, it increases life and intelligence, Destroys white hair and wrinkles, Increases splendor and complexion, It is a supreme method for maintaining youth. It makes the senses clear and increases radiance, It brings auspiciousness, contentment, and swiftness. Know the method of its lineage and activity from me. Because the combination of nourishment is extraordinary, It is said to be nourishment. It increases the essence of the body, And it destroys all diseases. The habit of time and seasons, And the suitability of place and strength, When the horse's stomach is clean, It should be fed in the morning. Mix the juice of sandalwood fruit, With the juice of three fruits. Add iron powder and the mixture, If the stomach fire is very strong, Very cool, for ten days, Without distraction, feed this. Daily necessities and food, Should all be of a cooling nature.
