The situation of becoming a horse is: the night will bring victory. Any horse whose coat is red, whose legs are blue, yellow, white, and black, or whose hooves are blue, yellow, red, white, and black, whose colors are two, three, or four, any color that follows another color. Such a horse is a divine horse, its king will win, able to conquer enemies, always auspicious on the battlefield, possessing wealth, sons, and grandsons. Any horse whose sexual organs are fully developed, that does not grow a mane and penis, will cause the master's family to be ruined, and afterwards its strength will decline. If on either side of the horse's mouth, there are protrusions like a cow's nipples, that will destroy the kingship. Protrusions like the horns of a cow or bull, the tip of the horn or like a cow's nipple, or like a heavy top, or like the shape of warts on the skin, or like a wood apple, or horns like fingers, whether thick or thin, long and short, rough and green, hard and soft, whatever the case, at the root of the ear or the last hairline, the forehead or the crown of the head, or in other places, there are protrusions of other shapes, any horn-like thing that appears in this way will destroy the master and the country. Wherever there is such a horse, that place will perish. Therefore, it should be sent to the enemy's place, and then the disaster can be calmed. If the horse's penis is covered with spots, and also the buttocks, testicles, ears, mouth, and eyes are the same, such a horse is called a piebald horse, and is a symbol of inauspiciousness and sin. Do not let such a horse participate in competitions, and those who desire auspiciousness should not touch it. Now I will tell about the faults of the eyes: dog eyes, bear eyes, and mouse eyes, frog eyes, eyes like jewels, and also the eyes of mice, owls, and fish, eyes like pigs and cattle, crows, sheep, and speckled eyes, eyes with speckles are to be despised. Squinting eyes and fierce eyes, and yellow eyes should also be avoided. This will make the master unhappy, and will also lead to the destruction of the family, and on the battlefield the master will be defeated or killed. Now I will tell about the various colors and shapes of defects in the horse's mouth. If small spots like black stamens are spread all over the mouth, that will cause trouble on the road. If half of the mouth is white, it will lead to the depletion of wealth, and if things like stamens are blocked, that is inauspicious. The mouth should be oily and deep.

If it has little oil, is red, and has little flesh, know that the fruit is small. Observe from four aspects: the color of the penis, the fruit of the teeth, as well as the characteristics and location. If there is only one testicle, it will kill the owner. If there are three testicles, it will kill the son. If there are no testicles, it is inauspicious. If the testicles are reddish-yellow, it will cause loss of property. If the testicles hang down very low, it will kill the owner on the battlefield. If the hair of the testicles is large, or turns yellowish-brown, or similarly becomes shriveled, that will also kill the owner. For those with other colors, if both knees turn black, and the scrotum also turns black, know that it will kill the owner. From the color of the body, if the color of the tail is different, it is called having a burning tail. That horse should always be avoided. If the tip of the tail is a different color, it will also lose the country. If the horse's color is white, having a little black is inauspicious. The ears and mane are black, if the tip of the tail turns black, that is called black-eared. For all matters, it is auspicious. For war, traveling, carrying loads, it fulfills all the king's wishes. Except for those called burning tails and those with black tail tips, if the horse's color is black, having a little white is auspicious. The hooves are like the color of crystal, if its head is white, that horse is called glorious. It is the producer of victorious kings. This is the twenty-second chapter on mixtures from the "Shalihotra Sutra". The snowy mountain is the best of mountains, adorned with various sources. Very tall, with a wide peak. From all directions, the wind does not blow, the peak is covered with snow. It is filled with the songs of Kinnaras. Various birds make sounds, various mountain deer adorn it. Various trees spread everywhere. Walking in the sky is always joyful. The groups of Vidyadharas dwell well, and the groups of Gandharvas attend. In the place where Shalihotra dwells well, Well-Heard again asked: The horse suitable for the king to ride, please tell me, great sage. What is the nature of the king's horse? Please tell me its certainty.
