Dun-kyu. Ninety srang of dried meat is the measure of meat food. For two bre of blood, salt needs to be close to two srang. Two srang of oil should also be added, to be given to those whose blood is depleted. For inferiors, give about one bre, dividing it into three parts. From the ground substance, take about three srang, cutting it into one srang portions to give. Give four handfuls of lubricant, and give one handful at the top of the lubricant. Giving clarified butter as a lubricant, it is said that two handfuls should be done. The measure of medicine is four srang, boil it with thirty-two srang of water. Leaving a quarter, it is said that this is the medicinal broth. In sixteen times the water medicine, add one hundred srang of boiled medicine. Add one hundred srang of oil as well, and stir three-quarters. There, add the medicinal powder of one-quarter of the oil, and make it into a paste. Then add meat broth and milk, adding one-quarter of water. The boiled water medicine and mixture, stale oil should be avoided. If you want cool molasses, and there is no sound when burned, if these signs appear, it should be obtained and measured. Because it is cooked, the oil should be poured out again. If it is filtered, the quality will be even better. If the oil becomes fine, medium, and clear, then the wise should know that the color of the oil has changed, because it has been cooked. Such oil is the destroyer of all diseases. Uncooked oil mixed with water, and overcooked turning black, will disturb all diseases. For wounds, nasal medicine, and lubricants, mildly cooked oil should be given. For application, overcooked oil, and for drinking, medium oil is praised. Uncooked oil causes disease, and overcooked oil is of no benefit. Well-cooked oil is the destroyer of horse diseases. Oil that eliminates wind, bile, and phlegm, is used for drinking, application, nasal medicine, wounds, and lubricants, in five ways. Know that these measures are the best for horses. For medium horses, reduce by a quarter, and for inferior horses, reduce by half. Because the rituals of each food and drink, and the difference of the three rituals, diseases will naturally subside, it is not praiseworthy to be the same for all.

The lotus appears to be in an open state. Its measure should be understood from the strength of the fire. It should not be given arbitrarily. The heat of the fire is of four kinds: Sharp, dull, balanced, and unbalanced. Sharp ones digest very quickly. Dull ones are difficult to digest. Unbalanced ones have unbalanced digestion. Balanced ones have balanced digestion. Dull fire heat causes luster and complexion, Initially, the gait will deteriorate. Sharp fire heat possesses all those qualities, And diseases become less. Balanced fire heat brings strength of mind, complexion, Freedom from disease, gait, voice, and Sensory faculties are comfortable, healthy, and free from disease. Unbalanced fire heat causes voice and complexion, Weakness, many diseases, and Discomfort, so it is said. Śālihotra revealed it. In the chapter of Śālihotra's Sutra, the fourteenth chapter is about measurement. The great sage, the subduer of the senses, who dwells well in the stable, Diligent in making fire offerings, was asked by the well-learned and others, What is the meaning of appropriateness, and what is the explanation of merits and faults? What is the function of food, please tell us about the body and its related matters. Thus, when the holy sage's son asked Śālihotra, The great sage of food preparation, radiant, spoke again: Food preparation brings complexion and radiance, agility and beauty, strength of mind and memory, Uprightness, joy in the heart, and maintains youth. Some are suitable and some are not, and through food preparation one can become comfortable, Now I will explain the ritual of preparation, please listen. When the fire heat is low and the mind is uncomfortable, Stomach ache, difficulty in breathing, Fatigue and being burdened by heavy loads, as well as those who have been poisoned and those who are emaciated, Those who are tired from traveling, those who do not get enough sleep at night, and those who are fatigued, should not be given food. Heavy food should not be given to the strong. For those who are weakened by the road, whose strength is diminished, the elderly and the very young, those whose senses are weakened, And those who have root diseases, fruit diseases, and tuberculosis, food preparation should always be done. When, in the afternoon, the shadows of three people lengthen, Slightly lengthened or not reached, it is the time for food preparation. Cook one prastha of rice well, Then mix it with hot water, and make it oily, If given, it will be well digested. First give the oily one, then give salt.
