This chapter on treatment immediately eliminates the state of weakness caused by disease and makes it disappear, therefore it is the fundamental result of all the chapters of life medicine. Treatment, beneficial, eliminating harm, as well as mixing medicines, herbs, making them calm, and reciting mantras, these are synonyms for the names of medicines. Thus it is said, medicines are synonyms for names such as treatment and beneficial, which are shown and explained by the wise men of life medicine. The explanation of the essence of the eight branches, called "Moonlight of the Meaning of Words," is determined by the student Moon. This is the explanation of the twenty-second chapter of the treatment chapter. The chapter on the essence of the eight branches, that is, the explanation of the fourth chapter, ends here. Next, the ritual of emetic medicine will be explained. Thus it is said, it is very reasonable to explain the chapter on the accomplishment of rituals after the treatment chapter, because treatment must rely on the chapter on rituals. That is, by understanding time and power, salt, broth, brown sugar, and wood, or juice or wine explained from the ritual, should be mixed into the emetic medicine.
