It means that for the eye disease of "difficult to open eyes," old ghee can be used, as well as medicinal oil decocted with the juice of grape vines, with sugar added for consumption. Similarly, medicines administered through the nose, fumigation with smoke, and any oily eye medicines can be used. "Make an incision on Kumuda, Sprinkle alkali flower salt on it, Licorice and Phyllanthus emblica, Pour in water decocted with bitter gourd." It means that for the eyelid disease called "Kumuda," make an incision with a lancet, then sprinkle powdered alkali flower salt on it, and pour in warm water decocted with licorice, etc. "In a windless place, a skilled doctor, After cleansing, the person lies supine, Turn the eyelid, warm with warm water, Fumigate with heated cloth, After wrapping the cloth properly, Hold with the left thumb and index finger, After being still and unmoving, Then at each part of the eyelid, Like a wheel-shaped sharp instrument, Make transverse incisions and marks, With the lancet itself or a rough leaf, Or a lotus leaf, Or scrape with sea foam." It is flat and red like a fingernail, without swelling, itching, pus, etc., it is called that the eyes and lips are well sutured. If it is the opposite of that, cut it again. It is called like this. The eyes and lips that have been cut and wiped well are flat, they will not become uneven, and they are red like the color of a fingernail, without swelling and other diseases, you should know that this is wiped well. The opposite of those characteristics is that it is not cut well, so repeat the cutting and wiping again. Cutting too much will cause pain, eyelashes will fall out and become ectropion. It is called like this. Cutting too much will cause pain etc. For that, use oil and fumigation etc., praise the treatment that benefits the wind. It is called like this. For ectropion that has been cut too much, use oil baths and fumigation etc. to remove the treatment of wind, this is praised by the teacher.
