One should eat in moderation, drink in moderation, and lick in moderation. One should observe in this way. The characteristics of moderation are explained by the teacher as follows: The amount should also depend on the power of the heat of fire and the nature of the food. The food should not cause harm to the intestines, should not cause obstruction to the heart, should not cause stinging and harm to both sides of the ribs, the stomach should not feel very heavy, it should make the senses feel satisfied and nourished, it should be free from hunger and thirst, it should be comfortable when in a dwelling, on a cushion, in bedding, walking, exhaling, inhaling, and speaking, it should be able to digest comfortably in the morning and evening, and it should gradually increase strength and complexion. These are the characteristics of moderation. These also indicate that moderation and temperance are the most important. Substances such as sesame seeds and sour substances have the nature of generating the heat of fire, and if eaten in moderation, they will generate the heat of fire, but not if they are not in moderation. Heavy and mild substances such as milk and sugarcane need not be mentioned. Therefore, whether a substance is heavy or light, one should observe moderation. What is meant by heavy substances are sugarcane, milk, grains, beans, and moist meats. Light substances are rainwater, rice called "rakta shali", sixty-day rice, small beans, and bird meat. Both of these should be observed in moderation, because they both depend on moderation. The meaning is that when eating and enjoying heavy or light substances, one should get used to the way of food, always eat the same amount, or eat less of heavy food than moderation, and more of light food than moderation. Because there was doubt about this, it is said: Eat half full of heavy food, do not eat too full of light food. The meaning is that for heavy and difficult to digest food, eat about half full, and for light food, such as rainwater and "Sālu Rāsanār", do not eat too full. Otherwise, it is enough to reach a moderate and comfortable state. Because fire and wind

Those foods with many light qualities, due to maintaining a balanced state, are able to generate the heat of fire. Even if consumed excessively in an inappropriate amount, they will only produce a few adverse effects. As for heavy foods, due to containing more light and water qualities, they become contrary to the nature of fire. Because they possess other common qualities, they reduce the heat of fire. Easily digestible in the right amount, that is what is called "moderate." It means that the amount is completely determined, that is, how much food, when eaten, can be easily digested without interrupting digestion and causing bloating, that amount is said to be moderate. If the food intake is insufficient, strength and radiance will not increase. All diseases of wind will become its cause. It means that if the amount of food is insufficient, less than the proper amount, then it will not transform into strength, nor will it transform into radiance, and the body will not grow and develop. Likewise, all diseases caused by wind will become its cause, that is, become the cause of producing and initiating it. If it exceeds the amount, it will also quickly produce all diseases. It means that exceeding the amount is eating too much food, which will quickly and rapidly produce all three diseases and cause them to fluctuate violently. Undigested food is uncomfortable, it disturbs wind, etc. Due to the disturbance and fluctuation of wind, bile, and phlegm, it will immediately disturb and elevate them simultaneously. The pulse gates are blocked, and mucus is produced. In the upper and lower channels, movement causes belching and pain, and it immediately arises in the gluttonous. It means that undigested food, eating too much is uncomfortable and harmful, it disturbs wind, etc., that is, the disturbance and fluctuation of wind, bile, and phlegm, will immediately disturb and elevate them simultaneously. The pulse gates are blocked, meaning that the pulse vessels are blocked. It will produce a disease called mucus digestion. What does it do to produce it? It means that the undigested food itself enters internally, mixes and merges with wind, etc., and then produces the mucus of
