For ten days, include two parts of unsuitable ingredients. Similarly, after ten days, as before, decide with three parts of unsuitable ingredients. Likewise, the fourth part of unsuitable ingredients should also be removed for ten days, and three parts of suitable ingredients should be added. In this way, one becomes accustomed to removing and adding for ten days. Others explain it differently from this: on the first day, remove one part of unsuitable ingredients, add one part of suitable ingredients, and then stay for one day. After that, on the second day, one should eat all the unsuitable things, thus deciding on one and two. After that, on the third day, one should consume two parts of unsuitable ingredients. After that, on the fourth day, eat all the unsuitable things, and similarly, on the fifth day, eat all the unsuitable things as well. In this way, it is decided in two days. On the sixth day, eat one part of unsuitable ingredients and three parts of suitable ingredients. After that, on the seventh, eighth, and ninth days, one should eat all the unsuitable things, thus deciding in three days. After that, the seventh day is unsuitable. After that, on the eleventh day, eat three parts of suitable ingredients and one part of unsuitable ingredients. After that, on the twelfth day, one should eat all the suitable things. After deciding in this way with days, on the thirteenth day, eat two parts of suitable ingredients and two parts of unsuitable ingredients. After that, on the fourteenth and fifteenth days, eat only suitable things. In this way, it is decided in two days each. After that, on the sixteenth day, eat three parts of suitable ingredients and one part of unsuitable ingredients. After that, on the days divided by the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth days, one should eat all things that are suitable and beneficial. In this way, it is decided in three days. After that, starting from the twentieth day, all four parts should be eaten from things that are beneficial and suitable, they say. Some explain it this way: abandon one part of habitual harmful food, and include one part of beneficial food in three parts of harmful food, and one should consume it until one becomes accustomed to it. In this way, the harmful is decided by one part, and the beneficial food

is determined by three parts. Because one part is lost from the harmful part, and three parts are lost from the beneficial part, leaving only one part. Similarly, determining with two parts means abandoning two parts each from the harmful and beneficial aspects, mixing two parts each, and continuing to do so until it becomes a habit. After that, determine with three parts, abandoning the three harmful parts and mixing one part into the three beneficial parts, and continue to do so until it becomes a habit. After that, one should completely consume four parts of beneficial food and medicine, so it is said. Therefore, the righteous physician Caraka also said: Therefore, what is harmful has also become a habit, gradually abandon it completely. What has become beneficial through reliance, also gradually increase it. One part of the harmful should be abandoned, and one part of the beneficial should also be abandoned, do this for fifteen to twenty days. From then on, abandon one part at a time. So it is said. Those who write treatises also say from entering the eight branches (of medicine): Harmful food has become a habit, abandon it with the part of action. The beneficial should also be relied upon with a part, determine with one, two, or three days. So it is said. Faults gradually decrease, and virtues gradually increase, then they will not arise again, and will become unwavering. So it is said. Or, what is unsuitable and causes harm, also gradually decreases and is exhausted as mentioned above. Virtues, which generate happiness, also gradually increase as the number does, faults will not arise again, and virtues will become unwavering. What is unsuitable has also been abandoned, and what is suitable has also become a habit. If one immediately abandons or does not rely on it, faults will arise. So it is said. As mentioned above, gradually abandoning what is unsuitable that has become a habit, and relying on what is suitable that has become a habit of eating, there will be no faults, otherwise, immediately, that is, what comes immediately, faults will arise from these two. What is unsuitable has also been abandoned, here the word "immediately" should be added.
