Snow, sweetness, astringency, and lightness should be enjoyed and consumed. Similarly, rice porridge, moringa, i.e., Mon bean sprouts, rock candy, amla, honey, meat of land-dwelling animals, and pointed gourd vegetables should be eaten. Scorched by the sun's rays, cooled by the moon's light, rendered non-toxic by the rising of the Ṛṣi star, purified water should be drunk day and night. The so-called clear and immaculate water is immaculate and can eliminate impurities, it is neither oily nor rough, and drinking it is like nectar. That is to say, in the autumn season, the daytime is scorched by the sun's rays and becomes hot in every way, and the night is cooled by the moon's rays and becomes cold. In this way, it is tempered and ripened by the seasons. Knowing that it is rendered non-toxic by the rising of the Ṛṣi star, when the Ṛṣi star rises, there is no poison. Because when it rises, nectar descends from the sky and stays in rivers and ponds, etc., in autumn it can turn the harm in them into non-toxic. Well water is not like this, because well water is always non-toxic. The so-called clear and immaculate water refers to the sun and moon, relying on them, it is without impurities and dust. The so-called impurities refer to the ability to eliminate and destroy wind, etc. The so-called non-oily is like spring water, it is neither oily nor heavy, so it does not generate phlegm, and because it is not oily, it is rough. The so-called drinking, etc., sandalwood, ushir, camphor, pearl pendants, garlands, beautiful clothes, high buildings whitewashed with lime, residing at night in a place with moonlight. Dew, ash medicine are very filling, yogurt and sesame oil, ghee are eaten at night. Intolerable alcohol and sleeping during the day, hail in front should be completely abandoned. Winter and summer are the first three (seasons), spring is the last three (seasons) to be enjoyed. Or summer is sweet, autumn is sweet, bitter, and astringent to be enjoyed. In short, food and drink, autumn and spring are rough, or at the end of summer it should be cool, at other times it is the opposite. Always enjoy all tastes, and enjoy them more in their respective seasons. The seven days at the beginning and end of the two seasons are the time of seasonal transition.

It should be known. Therefore, the previous rituals should be abandoned, and the subsequent order should be followed. If not abandoned, it will turn into disease, and the disease will come immediately. The treatise called "The Essence of the Eight Limbs Explained: The Moonbeam of Verbal Meaning" was written by the teacher Zla-ba-la-dga', and this is the explanation of the third chapter. Then, the chapter on preventing diseases will be explained. The so-called "chapter on preventing diseases" means that after explaining the chapter on timely conduct, the chapter on preventing diseases is written. This is because, as mentioned earlier, the rituals of timely conduct, if one can learn and practice according to their respective times, but if one suppresses feces, urine, etc., diseases corresponding to them will occur. This is like violating the rituals of timely conduct, so this treatise was written. Among them, diseases can be divided into two types: physical and mental. Now, it will be explained in which chapter it is explained how to prevent the occurrence of these diseases. This is based on the premise that ordinary people maintain health. Ordinary people should practice the behavioral rituals mentioned in the daily conduct chapter, and should also follow the content mentioned in the timely conduct chapter. Similarly, in order to avoid the occurrence of diseases, one should avoid suppressing wind, etc., as well as forceful squeezing and other behaviors. Therefore, it is said: external air, feces, urine, sneezing, hunger, thirst, sleep and phlegm, breath, yawning, saliva, vomiting, and the power of semen should not be suppressed. This means that the power of wind, etc., should not be suppressed. The so-called "exhausted breath" refers to the breath produced by fatigue, that is, the scattered breath, which should not be suppressed. The so-called "power" refers to the fact that when these up to semen are produced, the subsequent tendency to exist itself is called power, and those related to these powers should not be forcibly suppressed. Among them, wind is the most important. Therefore, the disease caused by suppressing wind has the fault of being difficult to cure, so its harm is pointed out first.
