Radu Aphakpa obtained the name of cooling power. Although there are various forms of substances, since beings are of the nature of fire and moon, only two forms of power are described. Next, explaining the aftertaste of medicine: "The aftertaste of substances is of three kinds, namely, the nature of sweet, sour, and hot." What is said here is that there are three kinds of aftertaste. When all substances are completely digested, it should be inferred from the result. Because of encountering stomach fire, the taste changes from its own nature, and this is only of three forms. Although there are six tastes, it is not six. Among them, some substances have a sweet aftertaste, some have a sour aftertaste, and some have a hot aftertaste. Among them, sweet and salty tastes have a sweet aftertaste, sour tastes have a sour aftertaste, and pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes are hot. This is inferred from the result. That is, "Because of encountering stomach fire, whichever taste has changed, the final digestion of various tastes, that is called aftertaste." This is what the scripture says. Therefore, what is transformed from special ripening is called aftertaste, not what is slightly ripened. Similarly, the high monk and wise man Zharaka also said: "When the taste of a substance declines, the end of the action is the aftertaste. As long as it exists, it is guna (Sanskrit, गुण, guna, merit, quality), which can be understood from the combination." In this way, in the same situation of inferring through action, encountering the heat of stomach fire, the taste that transforms into another taste is called aftertaste. In any case where encountering stomach fire immediately causes various taste changes, first the sweet taste, followed by the sour taste, and finally the hot taste after complete ripening is not included. Explaining the guna (Sanskrit, गुण, guna, merit, quality) of substances: "Guna (Sanskrit, गुण, guna, merit, quality) are heavy, dull, cold, and smooth, soft, astringent, gentle, and stable, subtle, complete, and dry, and the opposite of these are twenty kinds." What is said here is that the guna (Sanskrit, गुण, guna, merit, quality) of substances are ten kinds such as heavy, and it should be understood that there are twenty kinds opposite to these. The opposites of these in order are light, sharp, hot, rough, thin, hard, moving, coarse, easy
