Sweet wood, white durva, white sandalwood, pushel tsi, bumblebee stone, sengtrom, zivaka, lotus root, lotus, btsod, thaltre, these are combined with thirty-two srangs of sweet wood boiled juice, twice that amount of milk, and eight srangs of sesame oil, and boiled according to the proper method. Instilling the remaining oil into the ear, or filling the ear with it, or using it for anointing, will eliminate earaches and fever. Alternatively, pound young shoots of arka with any sour substance, drill a hole in the center of the trunk of a shrikhanda tree containing grain oil and rock salt, cover it with arka leaves, place it in two bowls joined together, cook it over a fire, and then squeeze the juice and instill it into the ear, which is the best method for eliminating earaches. Alternatively, filling the ear with the juice of either madulunga or kapittha is also beneficial. For ear diseases with sound and deafness, all treatments for ear diseases caused by water should be applied here. If tinnitus and deafness are accompanied by phlegm, first clear the phlegm with emetics, etc., and then boil the juice of boiled leaves of castor, shikru, young radish, and their leaves, with four times the amount of sesame oil, eight times the amount of milk, licorice, and ramnye powder together, leaving only the oil, and then pouring it into the ear, applying it, filling the ear, etc., will surely eliminate tinnitus, deafness, and pain. Alternatively, boil white datura, costus, shuti, jujube bark, soda ash, three hot spices, sesame oil, and four times the amount of salt as sesame oil together, leaving only the oil, and then pouring it into the ear will eliminate ear pain, watery discharge, deafness, and tinnitus.
