Taken together with goat's milk, patients with cataracts should take it regularly at noon or before meals. Sixty-four parts of lychee kernels, and one part each of copper, silver, and gold, melt these in a container until they become one. In a group of medicinal liquids containing six flavors, put the gold and other pills that have been heated in the fire, repeat this seven times, and then treat the remaining five flavors of juice in the same way as before. For forty-two days over six weeks, soak the pills in the medicinal liquid. Then grind turquoise, pearls, and conch shells, one part each, together into a powder. This is called lychee kernel and other eye medicine. Applying the powder to the eyes can eliminate all cataracts. The juice of grapes and lotus roots, as well as milk, wine, ghee, and rainwater, in each of these, soak the lychee kernel pills seven times as before, then grind them into a powder, put them in a conch shell container and use them as eye medicine to brighten the eyes. This is the best medicine that benefits all eyes. This is what the noble possessor of the body, named Janaka, said. Take two measures each of Spangs ma, burn them in the charcoal fire of yew, and take about two measures from it. In each of the three of goat's milk, honey, and ghee, repeat seven times as before. And ghee, calamus, nard, lychee kernel, glass powder, Tibetan incense, fennel, saffron, raspberry, haritaki, long pepper, cardamom, sea foam, and Sedum linearifolium, two spoons each of these two. One ounce of camphor, melt these in a container. Grind these into a powder, this is called Spangs ma eye medicine. It can eliminate three types of cataract disease, blepharitis, night blindness, and red eye disease. In particular, this powder can eliminate cataracts, just as the sun eliminates the darkness of cataracts. Sandalwood, three spices, iron, saffron, blue lotus, haritaki, Spangs ma, white sugar, wish-fulfilling jewel, and conch shell.

Alternatively, cow urine, the excrement of cows and goats, the juice of turnips, the sour mother tree root, women's milk, poisonous leaves, honey, take one part each of these, then burn cogon grass, immerse it repeatedly in the burning substance, and then grind it into powder. No matter who you prepare it as an eye medicine for, it will become as sharp as the eyes of a hawk. Repeatedly calcine lead, three fruits, poison, bhringaraja, licorice, take one part each of these and decoct them into juice, ghee, goat's milk, take one part each of these and soak them seven times as before, then make the lead into an eye medicine stick, whether soaked in medicine or not, or even just slightly soaked, apply it to the eyes to eliminate cataracts, blepharitis, pus, eye discharge, eye stickiness, itching, numbness, and red eyes. Mix the essence of molten lead with an equal amount of mercury, then add bat droppings equal to the total amount of both, and add a little camphor to grind into powder, prepare it as an eye medicine to eliminate all cataracts. Burn the head of a well-dead eagle with wolf dung that is as red as the color of sunrise into ashes, mix it with an equal amount of bat droppings, this burned powder is called eagle head powder, use it to prepare eye medicine, it will become as sharp as the eyes of an eagle, and enhance the power of the eyes. Alternatively, cut off the head of a black snake, mix bat droppings with ghee and put it in the snake's head.
