If food is not mixed in this way according to the distinction of the seasons, it will turn into disease. The third chapter on medicine and food combined with the seasons is complete. These diseases are caused by suppressing urination. For the therapy of water retention, in sixteen ounces of water, pound and boil any of the three: turmeric, usu, or Nepali apple. If belching is obstructed, one does not want to eat, the body and limbs tremble, both urination and defecation are difficult to discharge, the heart and chest hurt, the abdomen is bloated, vomiting occurs, and hiccups will occur. The therapy for internal diseases caused by obstructed belching is similar to the therapy for relieving hiccups. If saliva secretion is obstructed, the senses of the eyes, ears, and nose will become dull and unclear, the neck will become stiff and unable to turn, the corners of the mouth will be crooked, and diseases attached to the cheeks will appear. If these diseases caused by obstructed saliva secretion occur, the treatment is to fumigate the nose with strong smoke, apply eye medicine to the eyes, instill nasal medicine into the nose, and then raise the head, letting the eyes look at the sky or the sun, so that saliva will be secreted. Ghee can also be used to smear the nose, face, and head, and steaming can also be done. If thirst is obstructed, it can cause dry mouth and abdomen, discomfort in the body and limbs, unclear hearing, dizziness, fainting and amnesia, and heart pain. These diseases are all caused by obstructed thirst. The therapy for this disease is the same as the therapy for relieving thirst, which will be described below. Diseases caused by excessive hunger are: emaciation, loss of appetite, weakness, listlessness, drooping and pain in the lungs, heart, and liver, and dizziness. These diseases are all caused by excessive hunger.
