Beneficial. For those who are emaciated, weak, and have a rough abdomen, feed them meat broth or goat's milk. For upward-moving wind, feed them milk. For consumptive phlegm, feed them cooling medicine. For vomiting caused by illness, use rice water mixed with brown sugar and honey. All drinking behaviors should be praised according to the specific condition of the illness. If one is thirsty and afflicted by a previous illness, if there is no water to be found, it will lead to death or a prolonged illness. Therefore, one should quickly eliminate their thirst through habitual food, meditation, and medicine. Eliminating thirst can also cure other diseases. From the "Essence of Eight Limbs," the sixth chapter, on the location of treatment. Next, the chapter on treating alcohol-related diseases will be explained. Whichever fault is most apparent should be treated first. Alternatively, alcohol-related diseases are similar to the basis of the disease, and should be treated in the order of the location of Bacon. Bile is at the end of wind, and most alcohol-related diseases arise from this. Diseases caused by drinking inferior, spoiled, or excessive alcohol should be alleviated by drinking an equal amount of alcohol. Alcohol and poison are similar, but poison has sharp qualities, so its potency is very strong and requires reliance on other poisons. Especially when drinking excessive spirits, spicy and sour substances, alcohol destroys the taste of food, is easily digested, and has a spicy taste. It causes intoxication, thirst, confusion, and internal heat, leading to fever and dizziness. Diseases caused by alcohol block the air passages, causing unbearable pain in the head, bones, and joints. By preparing suitable alcohol, these symptoms can be eliminated. If the alcohol-related disease is not digested, after digestion, one will crave food and the body will become light. The taste of alkali mixed with sourness will quickly become sweet. Because alcohol can digest diseases, it is the best among all sour substances. The sharp and warm qualities mentioned earlier, as well as the merits of generating warmth, through habitual use, can best balance the body's nutrients. After seven or eight days, medicine should be prepared to treat alcohol-related diseases. Around this time, alcohol-related diseases that have strayed from the path will subside. After medication, if there is a recurrent disease, treatment should be given for alcohol-related diseases, and medication should be given according to the specific condition of the disease.
