"Is equal two one." This means that two identical letters are combined to produce a large sound, such as "kka ccha," which means large. "Anudatta is half part." This means that the letter is half a sound, and half itself is called small. "Svarita is its own sound." This means that it is neither increased nor decreased, it is in the middle. "Nasalized is part of Anusvara." This means that it is nasalized, that is, it has a head ornament. "Having A and not having A" are called, are "the names of big and small." This means that having A and not having A is the difference between big and small, and those without A are non-existent. Thus, after showing the upright part, in order to show other fundamental parts such as lifting, it is said, "What are the upright ones like? What are the upright ones like? Other sounds are also the same." It is said that the upright, that is, the place and part transformed from the part of A, just like lifting, bending, praising, degrading, tightening, and relaxing, should also be understood in the same way. Among them, those that correspond to the hardness of the upright have already been shown above. In order to explain those that are slightly different, it is said, "Among them, the slightly different place part is, from the part of old age and throat, the sounds of lifting and bending arise." and so on. The slightly different place is this, lifting and bending arise from the throat and palate, the bent A is I. The combination of A and I is lifting, that is, E. Similarly, from the upper and lower parts of the lips, the lips have upper and lower parts. This means that O and U are produced from the lips, of which the degraded A is U. The combination of A and U is O. Tightening is from the part of the crown of the head, which means that ṛ is produced from the crown of the head, if it is close to the tip of the tongue and squeezes the palate, the sound will be produced from the crown of the head. For example, if the sound of a flute is blown on the crown of the head, it will feel like the sound is ringing below. Relaxing is the teeth. This means that ḷ is produced from the combination of teeth and tongue. In order to know that when these vowels are bound and collected, the difference of the parts is combined as it is said in the upright time, when these are bound, the part is as it was said before.

It is said. Now, although the sounds such as raising and lowering are mentioned by name, their essence is not indicated, therefore, it is said, "Man, that, mother, do, ri, li, combine with the parts of the sound as appropriate." The so-called "man" is i. Similarly, the so-called "that" is e. The so-called "mother" is u. The so-called "do" is o. Ri and li are real, determined by the former Khenpos. The so-called "combine with the parts of the sound as appropriate" means that i is combined with lowering. Similarly, e is combined with raising. U is combined with belittling. O is combined with praising. Ri is combined with tightening. Li is combined with loosening. What is upright? The so-called "consider the part of a in front," the upright is the part of a, which has been said above. Then, are i and so on also called the part of a? The so-called "the remainder is the part of form," like this, the remainder are all parts of form, which are the form or difference of a, therefore they are called a and the form of a. Among them, the so-called "part" is also divided into two types: one's own part and the common part. The part that one possesses is one's own part. The part that is commonly possessed is the common part. To indicate this, it is said, "Those are each part, whatever depends on each other, because it is universally present, it is the common part." Among them, the so-called "depending on each other" means that letters depend on each other, such as Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), where va depends on o and is universally present. Those indicated in this way are also to indicate the difference or detailed distinction of letters, so it is said, "Those are the differences of letters." Now, wanting to explain the definitive meaning of letters, it is said, "Without many names, making names and words clear, in order to express meanings, it is called letters. The definitive meanings of nature, action, and necessary purpose are in order." The so-called "without many names" is to express the definitive meaning from the aspect of one's own essence. The nature of letters does not change into other many names, and because it is undivided, it is called unchanging. The so-called "making clear" is to express the definitive meaning from the aspect of action. The unchanging itself makes names and words clear.
