Saying "it is not the measure of all things," this is the fault of incomplete pervasion. Although it may be so, those who infer from scripture and things can correctly recognize both of these, therefore there is no this fault. If asked, the answer is: after "even without," etc., when there is a correct experience of entering belonging to one's own continuum, because there is no sign, it is not subsequent inference, and because there is no oral instruction, it is not scripture either. Therefore, this is only a category of direct perception, this is his intention. Then, isn't the word "also" in "the entry of the ear etc. also" have the meaning of collecting the entry of mind? Therefore, the entry of mind is temporarily included in direct perception. The treatises state that the entry of the senses is not the only way to recognize the entry of mind. Thus, how does the mind subsequently cling to the perception of the senses? How does the sense correctly perceive the mind's clinging in this way? This basis of knowledge is explained in Tsura etc. as having the meaning of being obtainable, that is, how the senses perceive, how the mind clings and understands, and how the entry of the senses obtains the mind's clinging in this way. If you ask this, this is not the case, because the word "also" in "the entry of the ear etc. also" is temporarily another measure, that is, the meaning of collecting the measure of inference. If the word "also" has the meaning of collecting the entry of mind, then because there is no difference, all entries of mind would become direct perception, because there is no special taking or rejecting. If someone says, "Whatever is blessed by the mind, that is, the entry together with the mind and the ear etc. is direct perception," then this is also the same fault. The meaning of obtaining should also not be different from correct experience, obtaining is only the same time without difference, but the different times of transformation are not. To this, if one considers the perception of the senses and the clinging of the mind to be simultaneous in order to achieve the meaning of complete attainment, then is its object an external object or the perception of the senses? If it is the former, then it will not become the door and the thing with the door, because things that arise simultaneously do not help each other.

Because it is not of the same kind, and there is no benefit, it is not suitable as the entity of the door. Otherwise, the mind's clinging would also become the door of sensory clinging. If the mind directly engages with external objects, then it would be meaningless for other senses to engage with them, because the purpose of a person can be perfectly accomplished by the mind alone. If the cognition of the senses is its object, then something without a reason for being an object would become an object-possessor. This is also unreasonable, because something without a reason is not suitable as an object itself. Otherwise, the mind's clinging would also become the object of sensory clinging. If someone says that the mind's action does not correctly recognize the action of the senses, then this statement of mutual correct recognition is not the essence of experience. Then what is it? It is the nature of attainment. Just as the clinging of the senses is correctly recognized and attained through the clinging of the mind, so too the clinging of the mind is correctly recognized and attained through the senses, meaning that it operates correctly together with the senses. This statement is also refuted by this very point. Furthermore, the idea that seeing an unmanifested object is also impossible to accomplish, as stated before. Therefore, cognition with the meaning of attainment is unreasonable. Also, the action of the ears and so on is the direct perception of external objects, meaning that the mind externally clings to the object recognized by the senses. Otherwise, if the mind's clinging could arise solely from the action of the senses, then adding the word "after" would be meaningless, because some actions of the senses have not been experienced. Comparison is also only suitable for comparing benefits. It would be said like this: just as the mind strongly engages with external objects relying on the benefit of the senses, so too the senses rely on the benefit of the mind. This statement is also refuted by the very point that it is impossible to accomplish seeing an unmanifested object. Therefore, mutually correctly recogniz
