The characteristics of the ear and so on, are only the kinds that are different from each other, this is the view of Mādhava. Furthermore, this is also the difference in its function, as it is said, the chief possessor of form etc., possessing parts, is the delight of previous actions. Saṃsāra is also the difference said to be without beginning, which is acknowledged by their own schools. The early students of Sāṃkhya thought that the chief is not endowed with form etc., but is of the nature of power, in which form etc. exist, but not by the nature of clarity, and is also without parts, not the delight of previous actions, but the chief is prior. Saṃsāra is also prior to delight, by the nature of power, but they are not by the nature of clarity. Mādhava, however, completely acknowledges everything in a different way. Therefore, this is the collapse of Sāṃkhya. Because what is not, etc., is to avoid the fault of becoming a single sense organ, that is, mental strength etc. are not sound, they completely transform into the nature of form etc. different from sound. This is also because there is no difference etc., which would lead to the fault of being infinite. Very clear, this is the cause of Tāraka, only for its own purpose, very small, just like that. Why is this so? Because the order stated by Mādhava is not clear, it must be refuted, because for similar things, even things with individual combinations, are proven by extreme causes. Or, because the clarity that is completely examined by the other party depends on the extreme cause. The essence of each individual, some are only the nature of happiness, some are only the essence of sound. Similarly, the atoms of action etc. should also be understood. They also exist in all places and times. This explains the dharma of the chief. Individual, that is, not gathered, unrelated to similar things, is scattered, this is its meaning. Such atoms should be called the chief. Completely gone from the kind, that is, the single substance of the atom.

It is not that they exist in everything, but those subtle particles, the countless ones, exist in everything, and those of the same kind will be referred to as the main ones of those, so it is declared. If those subtle particles are beyond the senses, and there is no result produced by being separated from them, then how can the nature of the results be represented? It is said: The nature of the results, etc., just as raindrops that are unrelated to each other falling from the sky do not clearly represent, but those that are completely attached to each other, falling on green leaves, etc., will become manifest. Thus, the subtle particles, in the difference of correct combination. The mentioned "difference" is for the purpose of distinguishing the correct combination of two or more subtle particles. The so-called "not exceeding one's own kind" means not exceeding the kind of hair, etc. The subtle particles of sound, only those that are gathered together, will become sound that can be captured by the ear's senses; similarly, the subtle particles of happiness, only those that have become lumps, will become happiness that is self-aware. The assembled different kinds do not understand the nature of the result. Even if it changes like that, even if the essence is threefold, will the difference of the complete transformation of a single form of wisdom arise for the subtle particles? It is said: Particles, etc. The so-called "separated from happiness, etc." means without the form of happiness, etc. The so-called "not different" refers to one essence. Why is it not similar? It is said: The nature of many. Or, this is the nature of many different ones, meaning many and varied. Nature is only nature itself. Due to the power of the form of knowledge that enters, approaches, and possesses, the nature of the object is indeed grasped; if the object is in another form, and it is thought that the knowledge that approaches it is another form, then due to its power, the object will not be determinedly grasped, and that is also what is desired. Therefore, whatever is a single form of knowledge is not an object with many different natures, like the knowledge of sentient beings.
