The commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition, called "Possessing Vastness and Absence of Impurities." The wisdom of the victorious king. The commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition, called "Possessing Vastness and Absence of Impurities." The wisdom of the victorious king. In Sanskrit: Viśālā amalāvatī nāma pramāṇasamuccaya ṭīkā. In Tibetan: The commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition, called "Possessing Vastness and Absence of Impurities." Homage to the Buddha! May the Sugata, the embodiment of compassion, be victorious! May the Dharma of renunciation always be victorious! May the assembly of noble beings, who are worshipped by all three realms, be victorious! Even to enemies, those who have obtained objects, Those who follow others are praised by the holy ones. Even those who have found the doctrines of others, It is fitting to benefit others. Therefore, for those who are extremely vast, The doctrines of the teachers, which are truly From those who are not able to see completely, Even from me, a person of weak intellect, From the doctrines of Dharmakirti and others, having made a slight collection, And from the aspects that have become visible from that, with effort, One should examine it oneself. The true nature of meaning is thoroughly analyzed, possessing delicious taste, Like the nectar-like commentary on the treatise of the tradition of Dignāga. This I do for the sake of benefiting others. Being a valid cognition, and so forth, is as follows. For example: You are Mount Meru, you are the ocean, Protector, you are the wish-fulfilling tree, the drinker of light, Good physician, you are the lamp, You are the holy savior. Thus, even without the combination of sounds, its meaning is understood, so it is here as well, thus, being similar to valid cognition, the Bhagavan is valid cognition. Because, just as valid cognitions such as direct perception are closely useful for the sake of beings, clarifying what was not previously understood and not deceiving, so too, the Bhagavan, upon whom the supreme purpose of beings depends, having generated the knowledge of the nature of the four noble truths, For those who definitely seek goodness, clarifying what has not been understood and not deceiving, therefore, possessing the same nature as valid cognition.

That is the measure. Transformation is birth, meaning occurrence. The word "transformation" is to negate the meaning that is completely examined by other measures such as the unarisen, the eternal, the independent, etc. It is both a measure and a transformation, therefore it is transformed into a measure, that is, for that which is transformed into a measure. So, how is it that here in the commentary itself, the second case appears as in "I prostrate to the teacher who has such qualities"? Indeed, it is so. Because this which is to be expressed follows the supreme combination, so when one wants to express the agent of the action, and when one wants to obtain the excellence of pursuing meaning and clinging to the action behind, because one wants to express the act of truly and completely giving the act of prostration that shows the act of obtaining, so at that time, for the action, the fourth case is reasonable. Just as only for the sake of wanting to express the act of sleeping in the name of the act of obtaining, wanting to express that the master is to be done intentionally, saying "sleep to the master", here only the fourth case has become, similarly here too, so there is no fault. Benefiting beings, means benefiting beings, that is, the excellent aspects of abandoning and accepting what should be abandoned and accepted, with means, that is, having the state of wanting to do so. Prostration, means completely revering with mind, speech, and body. This is also connected to "collected from all". By this, offering is made from prostration. Teacher, here there is no it, because among shamsi-shada etc., the names trin-tri-tsa etc. do not have it, and there are many other places where it is said like that. The method of exhausting suffering is the teaching, and its author is called the teacher, this is in the stage of the result. Here, because the causal path of the teaching itself is made familiar, so the result is taken as proximate, therefore the word of the teaching is used. The one who does the teaching, the stage of the Bhagavan Bodhisattva, is expressed by the word teacher. Sugata, means gone and obtained well, that is, having abandoned all that should be abandoned in various ways, therefore it is gone in bliss. Protector, means that by this it protects, so it is protection.
