It is said that the knowledge of sound is also like that, which contradicts being all-pervasive. Why? Because these three words, when properly combined, will completely transform into one nature. Therefore, it is thought that this is what makes accomplishment achievable. Different kinds are completely transformed, and the many natures of different characteristics attain one nature without difference. Because the kinds are different, it means that the kinds of cause and effect will become different. If that were the case, it would be said that there is no effect, which would violate the commitment. Or because the kinds are different, such as happiness and so on. These different things, even if properly combined, should not completely transform into one nature, because they produce effects without exceeding their own kind. If it is said that even different things, such as brown sugar and water, do they not also produce the same nature of drinking and so on? The answer is: speaking of one sound, such as "ragala" and so on, drinking and so on do not actually exist, but only for the sake of convenience, brown sugar and so on are referred to by one sound, just like "Gangrelde." Just as when a very small amount of flour is mixed with a large amount of salt, only the taste of salt is perceived, or one wants to perceive the taste of salt. Just as dogs regard a beautiful body as edible, so should one understand sound and so on. Not relying on the attachment to sound means that sound is not the nature of one quality, so what is it? It is the nature of three qualities. Even so, it does not cling, which is not relying on it. This means that this is not one nature of sound. If an object of one direction exists, it is impossible to exclude multiple natures, therefore asking: why? The cause is explained by the particularity of the sense objects. Multiple essences refer to the differences in essence of sound itself, quality itself, courage itself, and so on. This is also the only one, referring to any one of happiness and so on. This refers to that which cannot be captured by the ear.

It is not so, just like sentient beings, just like the general dharma knowable and so on, the two natures are also like that, this is saying that the pervasive non-apprehension is stated. Similarly, it should be stated for other faculties as well. When flour and salt are mixed, only the taste of flour is perceived. Similarly, the taste of salt alone is easily perceived elsewhere, but when mixed with flour, it also appears elsewhere. Touch and so on are also the same, this is equality. This also explains the fault of becoming one faculty as mentioned earlier. Again, what is the fault in this view? If it is admitted that sound and so on have differences in qualities. The answer is: It is true that it is admitted, but that is a difference in appearance, not a difference in nature. Because at all times, the essence of the appearance of happiness and so on is not different. Merely the difference in appearance is not enough to be the object of other faculties, because the difference in appearance of sound and so on is limitless, and if it becomes limitless faculties, that is not acceptable. If sound and other objects are not different either? The answer is: It is not like that, because the sound and other objects of these three are not the respective differences of happiness and so on, because it has been admitted that sound and so on are the essence of the three. This is saying that it is unreasonable. Therefore, it is said that there are superior differences and so on. If it contradicts the established tenet, isn't this view also faulty? The answer is: Because this view has fewer faults than the view of Madhava, so it is said like this, there is no fault. Entering is because it is not established by valid cognition, the faculties cling to external objects, and for what the faculties perceive, consciousness will cling to it accordingly. Just as the faculties perceive, consciousness will cling to it accordingly, and what consciousness clings to, the faculties can also correctly recognize. This treatise explains that the two entries correctly recognize each other. Because it is not established as direct perception, it is measurable.
