Similarly, with substances, this is a fallacy that contradicts pervasiveness. Substances are not apprehended by a single sense faculty, because what is to be seen and what is to be touched are also substances, which has been admitted. Does "form, etc., are not distinct" mean this? It indicates that the reason for distinguishing form, etc., is that they are not apprehended by a single sense faculty. If that were the case, if one does not accept that substances are different, then form, etc., would not become different either. If one says that for different apprehenders, form, etc., are distinguished as non-one, that is possible. But we do not necessarily assume that they are different simply because the sense faculties are different. Furthermore, the very fact that different sense faculties apprehend them implies different apprehenders. If different sense faculties apprehend them, then undoubtedly the apprehenders must be different. If a substance exists, but what is apprehended by different sense faculties does not become different in terms of apprehension, is that not the case? No, it is not, because the substance itself is what needs to be analyzed, and the refutation and examination are the same for form, etc. If one says, "If one sees," etc., then the oneness of substance is established by direct perception, while form, etc., are not one. Therefore, how can one change it by inference? Like existence and qualities, this also indicates that existence and qualities are not determined. The basis of existence itself and qualities themselves, form, etc., are those that possess all sense faculties; therefore, they are also those that possess all sense faculties. As stated above, this explains that for qualities themselves and existence itself, there is knowledge of all sense faculties. Non-different knowledge is when one says, "What I see is what I touch," which is the answer to "not by sense faculty." Because multiple sense faculties are meaningless. This means that there is no reason to examine multiple sense faculties. One sense faculty cannot fully understand multiple objects, therefore, it is necessary to fully understand other sense faculties.

If, if it also fully enters the domain of other senses, then examining multiple senses becomes unreasonable. It would be said: different senses should be understood through different results. If the function of the senses is also only one, then saying that other senses do not have प्रमाण (pramāṇa, Devanagari: प्रमाण, Roman transliteration: pramāṇa, literal meaning: measure) there is no need to examine it. Meaningless means without reason. If it turns out to be thought like this: multiple senses can completely determine one thing, but one sense cannot determine multiple things, and form etc. are also multiple. Therefore, examining multiple senses is not meaningless. Even if the self-object is different, etc. If one sense also fully enters the domain of other senses, then therefore, all these will only become its self-object. Even if there are differences in the self-object, it is like blue etc., it can only do that, this is not an answer. Different numbers etc. also refer to numbers and quantities etc. having different properties, as well as distinctions etc. and otherness and non-otherness and karma. In order to include colored and congruent, the things that can be grasped by the eyes etc. are established in this way. It is not the domain of other senses, this shows that for the domain of the eye sense, other senses cannot function, just like form etc., things are also like this, which clearly shows the fault of contradicting pervasion. The object of other senses themselves, etc., even if form and touch etc. are different, but how much is not recognized by different senses, that much cannot be recognized. If it is again held by one sense, then at that time, just like blue etc. are not distinguished by the object of the eye itself, form and touch etc. will also become like that. Moreover, touch will also be held by the eyes. What does it mean that the eyes do not hold? This shows that other senses made by distinction do not hold. Therefore, this shows that what the tactile sense can function is not the object of the eye sense, just like touch, things are also like this.
