What is the need to teach in this way? If someone says that although there is transformation here, it cannot be said that the nature of manifestation has not been fully revealed. The Blessed One said: This "also" etc., so-called "nature," is not what makes people understand the things that are expressed by the nature that is different from other things. The things to be expressed are also established only by the sentence "born from the union of root and object," so saying nature is meaningless. This has been clearly demonstrated. If it is said that it is also necessary to reveal the necessity, if it transforms like this, it is too much. The Blessed One taught: When revealing the nature of knowledge, it is also like "also" etc., this is a metaphor. Whatever is not very necessary for the nature of manifestation should not be revealed at that time, such as merits etc. Things that cannot be spoken of, etc., are also not very necessary for the nature of manifestation, and there is no pervasiveness. Whatever cannot be spoken of, etc., is not only the difference of manifestation born from the union of root and object, but what is it? This is the nature of the two manifestations that are mixed with each other, and it can be expressed with one verse. The so-called "nature of unspeakable, unerring, and attachment," this part of the verse can express the mind. The so-called "born from the union of root and object" refers to those born from the union of root and object. Therefore, all those who say "consciousness born from root and object" etc. are acting without understanding the meaning of the verse. Therefore, "pleasure etc. are not measurable" etc. are also not faults. However, the argument that he immediately said is not established. Thinking like this, it should be said that the mind is the root, because it is the meaning of the speakable of the extremely accomplished manifestation. Also, the so-called "nature of unspeakable, unerring, and attachment" only this can become the nature, but because this can establish that the former is also a manifestation, then the nature of the former will become a meaningless fault. Everywhere, it has been said that the nature is not pervasive, why? Because the forms of the eyes and ears...

Those cognitions that know are also considered to be direct perception. For those, it is impossible to arise from encounter. To show that this is impossible, (the text) says: "Holding with intervals, etc." This means that holding with intervals is holding separately. Holding as superior is holding as separate from the sense faculty. There, it will not change. Why? (The text) says: "It is not," etc. This shows that whatever is without interval from the sense faculty cannot be considered as having an interval from the sense faculty, nor is it superior, like odors, etc. Forms and sounds, etc., are also like that, and thus it becomes a fault pervaded by contradiction. (The text) says that there is also holding in that way. That is to say, one should hold the nature that exceeds the limit of the sense faculty, as well as mountains, etc., called separate, and also sounds, which is very famous. If it becomes a holding of attainment, then it will only hold those that are attained by however many parts, and it will also hold what is called uninterrupted. Mentioning form here is to indicate the meaning of the proximity of the object of the eye sense. From what places is it considered to be with intervals? It is not without interval together with it, like this shore and the other shore. Forms and sounds, etc., should also be considered as having intervals from the sense faculty that holds itself. Similarly, from what places is it considered to be superior? It is not without interval together with it in all its own nature, like mustard seeds. Forms and sounds, etc., should also be considered as being held beyond their own sense faculty, which is both the contradictory and the pervasive contradiction. The sound "this is" is said to completely avoid the reason of non-establishment. Then, isn't the sense faculty beyond the sense faculty? How can it be considered as slightly having an interval or being superior by relying on it? Forms, etc., are also not measurable, because qualities do not exist for qualities. Therefore, why do those hold as superior? The opponent also does not consider odors, etc., to be without interval from the sense faculty, because those do not possess it. Therefore, the sense faculty and the odors, etc., without interval are not, etc.
