It is established. Now, after examining it myself, it is not that I have not classified it. Therefore, it is also said in the Abhidharma. For the time being, direct perception is reasonable to be established from it because seeing it closely indicates it. If there is no subsequent inference that closely indicates it, what should be done? Because the combination of it is also seen, it should be understood that only the characteristics are created. As it is said, whatever is a little bit of the nature of arising is the nature of cessation, etc., just like seeing the combination of the subsequent inferences of the Blessed One. If this is said, how can the characteristics of subsequent inferences be said? Because the basis of subsequent inference is the cause that does not arise without it, through this combination, it is only clarified that the arising of the cause is the cessation to be proven that does not arise without it, the Blessed One said so. Therefore, the characteristics of subsequent inference are also established only from the close indication of the Blessed One. Therefore, the well-established treatise writers who give rise to this conviction that this is a treatise that excellently elucidates the characteristics of valid cognition established from the close indication of the Blessed One will develop respect for it, and from then on, they will listen with even more reverence, etc. Or, here, at the beginning of the excellent elucidation, the praise of the Blessed One is proclaimed for the purpose of arousing reverence for the Blessed One to be praised. Through this, how can reverence be aroused for him? Because this verse clarifies the qualities of the Blessed One who has reason and has become valid cognition, if even the treatise writers who have not been excellently established before develop reverence for him, what more need be said of others? From reverence for him, those who enter for the purpose of receiving the excellent elucidation that accumulates the accumulation of merit will be free from obstacles and wrong views, so reverence for him is also only with necessity. Then, aren't some people using the combination of establishing the very person, etc., for the purpose of refuting such a person? Therefore, why would proclaiming praise for him turn into reverence? Because that is not what makes one awaken, but to establish negation and concomitance.

Because actions are impossible. For those who have transcended the senses, it is impossible to be the opposite of what they have not seen, because they do not know the things that exist. For that very reason, since contradiction has not been established, it is not contradictory to exist together with what is not contradictory. It is also not established that it is the same as another person, because it is impossible to know that there is no difference. For such people, not observing is not a sufficient reason in itself. Even if it is the same as the person himself, the difference in qualities such as mental composure can be seen. Similarly, if there is a creator, there may be others as well. Even if there is a difference, following is not established. Therefore, because the subsequent inference has a remainder, that is, there is doubt about the opposite. Even if one does not see entering the inconsistent side, it is impossible. The valid cognition itself, which has the characteristic of this kind of knowledge, is also not impossible. Because it is possible to establish its proof accordingly. Whatever establishes something, and follows it without being inverted, it is possible to obtain that thing. For example, just like patients who follow the establishment of being without disease without being inverted. The Blessed One is also the proof of validity that is followed without being inverted. Nature! Whatever is said to be the establisher from which the possibility of obtaining validity from the followed establisher is said to be the revealer. The cause for this is intention and the perfection of action. Intention is the revealer, and intention is the desire to benefit beings. This also refers to the great compassion that all beings desire to be free from extreme suffering, and that has become their essence by being accustomed to it for countless eons. The verse says, "Having the intention to benefit beings." This shows that because one has this intention, one will have the intention to benefit beings. From habit, it is possible to become its essence. Whatever qualities of mind, if they are very accustomed, will become its essence, just like the Vedic scholars and the renunciates. Compassion is also a quality of mind. Nature! Therefore, it can completely benefit others.

The instruction is: It is inappropriate to teach others how to pacify suffering without having realized it oneself. Therefore, one should temporarily engage in practice to pacify one's own suffering, thus it is taught. Practice means teaching beings, and so on. Whatever one cherishes, one should strive to act in accordance with it. For example, just as a mother cherishes her child and strives to act in accordance with that, so too does the Bhagavan cherish beings. It is the nature. The actual teaching of beings is to closely show the means of pacifying the suffering that one has seen. Here, the result is closely attributed to the cause, and the practice of the method is expressed by the term 'teaching beings.' Because it is a method that can be taught to sentient beings, it should be understood that it is superior to practicing other methods. The word 'from' in 'from teaching beings' is the cause of the characteristic. Therefore, just as when it is said, 'earth is from hardness,' it is understood that earth is of a hard nature, so when it is said, 'the teacher is from teaching beings,' it means that the teacher is of that nature. That is the suffering of the characteristics of the five aggregates of clinging, which is impermanent due to the reason of occasionality, and because of that, it is the cause of impermanence. Just as a disease can be cured when the cause of the disease is exhausted, so too can this be exhausted when the cause is exhausted, but otherwise it is not so. Having ascertained this, one examines what the cause of this is. The cause of suffering is mainly the craving that is attached to the self. Whatever is not led by other sentient beings, but has innate joy, and grasps at inferior places, that is because of attachment to the self, wanting to abandon suffering and happiness, and wanting to attain happiness, just as bees innately like to grasp at impure places. Likewise, beings are not led by other sentient beings, but innately like to grasp at inferior places such as the womb. It is the result. Because existence itself is the main subject in the treatise.
