Regarding individual objects, if one thinks that subtle differences caused by different collections would lead to remembering them as distinct, that is not true, because eliminating differences is the cause of remembrance. Thus, for some objects that have become neutral states, where knowledge constantly arises, there are also different collections such as the senses. Even so, one does not remember them as distinct, like saying, "Such moments of consciousness have passed." For example, twins may have similar appearances, but they are different in substance. Even so, because they are not obvious, one does not recognize them as different. So what is it? It is that they are confused with each other. Therefore, for things without obvious differences, there is no change in the memory of having differences. Therefore, because there are some differences caused by things in experience, from which one remembers them as different, one should consider joy and things themselves to be similar. Therefore, the second way of knowing is also established. And the statement "Self-awareness is also the action itself" speaks of another reason that needs to be proven, that not only is the second way of knowing established from later memory, but also self-awareness, which is considered to be the result of valid cognition itself. For the time being, there is experience from the unique, so there will also be memory, but just because of that, why is it self-awareness? Thinking this, one asks, why? Because only oneself can experience consciousness, and it cannot be experienced by others, so after determining this, one says "In this" and so on. The meaning here is that for the one who remembers, there is experience, just as with form and so on, memory also exists, this is the result. Here, with "transformation" and so on, it is only to manifest the desire to be experienced by other consciousnesses. Therefore, to establish the argument, this clarifies the other party's thoughts. With "by other consciousnesses" and so on, one completely abandons arguing for the sake of establishing, because if one experiences consciousness with a certain consciousness, then one will also see memory later, and for the one who experiences, the reason for memory is also not established, therefore for that.

Another consciousness that takes an object as its focus should arise, and there should also be memory of that. Therefore, it is said that from that to that is also because of others. When another consciousness experiences, consciousnesses will not be exhausted. If only one consciousness is manifestly established, then the transmission of consciousness, the later and later consciousnesses taking the earlier and earlier consciousnesses as their objects, will become limitless. This is to say that it will become such a fault. If that were to happen, what fault would there be? It is said: "Transferring to another object," etc. If consciousness does not enter another object, this is also what is desired. Then, from what does consciousness transfer, and it will become self-awareness. Although it may become that, the last consciousness can only be experienced by another consciousness, and it will not become memory either. Only it has not been experienced, nor has it been remembered, so will it transfer to another object? This is not reasonable. If that were the case, if the last consciousness has not been experienced, therefore all the consciousnesses that arose in the previous time will become unexperienced, because its object has become obscured. Whatever is the object of something, that which is obscured, it has not been experienced, just as the consciousness of Devadatta, what Devadatta experiences is like offering. The object of the consciousness that arose in the previous time related to the nature of beings is also obscured. Pervaded by contradiction. Or, what is not a direct object is not direct, just like obscuration. The consciousness of an object that has not been experienced is also like that. Pervaded by contradiction. Here it will become that, whatever consciousness is experienced by oneself, it will become direct, so is what others experience not direct? Then, by what is one's own experience established? If experience is established, then it will be distinguished as oneself or others, the answer is that it is not established. When that is not established, because there is no difference of obscuration in both, it is difficult to understand with an obscured object that this experience is one's own, not another's. Therefore, by what is one's own experience...

Yes. If the object to be grasped is not established, but it is still considered that things are manifest, then all sentient beings will become manifest, because there is no difference from the object not being manifest. Nor is it a transformation. Therefore, it should be admitted that it is the self-awareness of knowledge. Here it is said that the debate of Master Vasubandhu is established. It is widely known in the world that the author of the treatise saw that the other treatises he had created were without fault, so he said that it is impossible for him to create a debate with errors. It is not the master of debate establishment. That's what it says. Isn't it only possible to determine from the reputation of the author of the treatises that have not seen the author? It is also here, so how can it be said that it is the master of debate establishment? Or it is determined to be meaningless. That's what it says. Because of the occasion, it should be understood as the master for it. This clarifies such a meaning: for the time being, it is not possible to determine the meaning only by reputation, because it is also possible to have no meaning. If it is also made by him, then in that case, at first, the excellent wisdom was not born, and later when he became smart, he was born to determine that it was meaningless. Again, how does he determine that it is meaningless? Otherwise, it is said that it is a part, it is said that it is because the faultless part is said. From the point of view of pointing out the fault, the master's determination that the debate is meaningless, then for the debate to be established, otherwise it is said that it is a part. In order to show that we will clearly clarify those faults, it is said therefore and so on. Therefore, it is because of the fault. In this way, from otherwise saying a part, this clarifies that the debate is established with faults. For the measure and so on, for the part of the measure and the similar and the refutation and its answer and so on. From that meaning, consciousness is manifest, from that itself which is the name of consciousness,
