The reason "perceived by one's own consciousness" has been explained. Whatever consciousness perceives any object with any appearance, that consciousness perceives only that appearance; this is logical. Thus, with appearances such as concealment, a cow appears to one's own consciousness, and that consciousness perceives only that appearance. Also, in the consciousness of an object-consciousness, the appearance of the object-consciousness, which follows the object, is closely perceived, and apart from that, it is not any other appearance at all. What does not appear is also not its object, because it is too extreme. Therefore, the statement "an object-consciousness with the appearance of an object is perceived by one's own consciousness" obtains the meaning of this reason. The term "self-appearing" means that what becomes the appearance of an object-consciousness with the appearance of an object also separately manifests its own nature. The term "other appearance" means that if there is no second way, that is, if only what conforms to the object becomes the object-consciousness, then it is also not the nature of experience. Then, are there not some who desire a consciousness of the nature of a single object? Why is this said? If one wants to establish consciousness as having the appearance of an object, then some people may have this doubt: if one wants to establish consciousness as having the appearance of an object, then it must be established by completely abandoning one's own nature. Therefore, in order to dispel that, in order to show that only without abandoning one's own nature does it conform to the appearance of the object, this is said. Alternatively, "one's own nature" means only the appearance of experience, and it is also not having the appearance of an object. The statement "the consciousness of consciousness also does not become differentiated by object-consciousness" means that the consciousness of consciousness is the consciousness that perceives object-consciousness, and it is not differentiated by object-consciousness, that is, it does not become differentiated. It does not arise as differentiated by the difference of the appearance of the object-consciousness that follows and is related to the object. If there is the statement "by perception, it generates one's own consciousness that possesses the appearance of self," then at that time, it should be differentiated by the appearance of the speech of the consciousness arising from the object-consciousness.

It will transform. If there is not this, then how can the object differentiate its own consciousness? Just as differentiating with a distinction similar to oneself does not produce a distinction, object consciousness also will not differentiate its own consciousness, but will transform. Therefore, the consciousness of the object also has the aspect of the object. Whatever is apprehended by one's own consciousness as having the aspect of something, that will become the aspect of that thing. For example, a cow apprehended by one's own consciousness as having the aspect of having a tail, etc., is one that has the aspect of having a tail, etc. The consciousness of the object is also apprehended by one's own consciousness as the aspect of the object. This establishment of "this is apprehended with its aspect" is because it is the cause of having its aspect. To prove it, this is the result. Its aspect itself is the nature. The experiential consciousness of the object is also only slightly indicated here. The discerning consciousness also apprehends with its own consciousness the aspect of the meaning of how it is thought and the aspect of consciousness. Thus, the consciousness of object consciousness does not only realize the nature of the meaning or the nature of experience with the experiential consciousness of the object, but rather, like "this is such a meaning and its consciousness," it grasps the aspects of both, like "such an aspect of meaning has been thought," it is taken by one's own consciousness. Even if it becomes like that, object consciousness will only arise as without aspect. There, only with the result of the meaning, it will become a memory like "this consciousness is the result of the meaning." If that is so, it will also remember the cause of experiential consciousness, which is the meaning. After that, due to confusion, experiential consciousness combines with the meaning and becomes more attached to the aspect of the meaning itself. If someone says, how great is the result of confusion, the one who realizes it clings to it in that way, then it will become only that aspect, which is also not reasonable. The answer is: "The later ones are also," etc., where the word "also" is for certain holding. The later ones, that is, the consciousness of object consciousness, etc., those are, the earlier ones, that is, whatever is the object of experiential consciousness, is separated by consciousness in relation to the later consciousness.
